Function : De-Misting / De-Icing ...
Depending on the Vehicle Specification, Heating Elements are
incorporated into the following components,
- Rear Windscreen Assembly
- Side Wing Mirror Assembly *
These Heating Elements provide for improved Driver visibility and
safety in the event of ice or condensation forming on the above
components

The Climate Control ECU / Heater Panel manages the Driver

The Instrument Panel acts as the gateway for the De-misting
request signal coming from the Climate Control ECU / Heater Panel

There are 4 types of wiring architectures used, depending on the
vehicle specification,
- Vehicle fitted with Non-Regulated AC system
- Vehicle fitted with Non-Regulated AC system with Electric
Folding Wing Mirror option
- Vehicle fitted with Regulated Climate Control system
- Vehicle fitted with Regulated Climate Control system with
Electric Folding Wing Mirror option

Function : De-Misting / De-Icing ... System Functioning
De-Misting function pre-requisite : Engine Running signal
There are 2 methods of activation for the De-Misting function ;
- Pressing the De-Misting button on the Heater Control Panel
- Pressing the De-Misting button or Visibility Program button on
the Climate Control Panel

Vehicle fitted with Non-Regulated AC / Heater System
The De-Misting request is acquired by the Instrument Panel from the

Heater Panel and sent to the BSI via the MUX Bus
If the Engine Running signal is received, the BSI unit will authorize
the De-Misting Function and transmits the request to lit the De-
Misting warning light to the Instrument Panel
The De-Misting function is controlled by a 12-minute timer, which is
managed by the BSI unit
Pressing the De-Misting button again during this 12-minute duration
will cancel the function

Vehicle fitted with Regulated Climate Control System
The De-Misting request is acquired by the Climate Control ECU and

transmitted to the BSI unit via the MUX Bus
If the Engine Running signal is received, the BSI unit will authorize
the De-Misting Function and transmits the request to lit the De-
Misting warning light to the Climate Control ECU
The De-Misting function is controlled by a 12-minute timer, which is
managed by the BSI unit
Pressing the De-Misting button again during this 12-minute duration
will cancel the function

Function : De-Misting / De-Icing ...System Downgraded Modes
The BSI Unit continuously monitors the vehicle battery level ( Power
Management function )
If the Battery Voltage level 15 Volts, the BSI will automatically inhibit
the De-Misting function ( Load-shedding )
The BSI will ALWAYS give priority to battery charging. If the Load-
shedding function is active during the De-Misting function, the De-
Misting Warning Light remains lit ( Driver is NOT informed )

Depending on the Vehicle Specification, the 307 may be fitted with

- New Generation Front Wiper System ( Butterfly type )
- Intermittent / Slow / Fast Wiper Speed control
- Automatic Wiper function with Rain Sensor *
- Front Windscreen Washers
- Front Headlight Washers *
- Rear Windscreen Wiper System
- Rear Windscreen Washer System

The BSI Unit manages the Wipe / Wash functions and provides over-
heating protection for the Wiper Motor unit (s)
- [ Wiper Motor Fixed Stop ] Information
The BSI Unit controls the Rear Wiper function and acquires the Rain
Sensor information
The BM34 Unit controls the Front Wiper function, Front / Rear
Washer function and Headlight Washer function
The CV00 Unit acquires the Drivers Requests via the Wiper Stalk
The Multi-Function Display shows the Warning Message
[ Automatic Wiper ] mode active

Front Wiper Operation Manual Wiper Mode
There are 3 Wiper Speeds available in Manual Mode,
- Intermittent Speed
- Slow Speed
- Fast Speed
Wiper Speed is controlled by the Wiper Stalk

In Intermittent Speed, the Wiper speed will vary with Vehicle Speed

In Slow or Fast Speed, if the vehicle speed slows < 5 km / h, the Wiper
speed will automatically reduce one speed ;

Slow Speed Intermittent Speed
If the vehicle speed > 10 km/h, the initial chosen Wiper speed will re-
activate itself
The Driver may chose to keep the chosen Wiper speed by adjusting
the Stalk controls

Front Wiper Operation Automatic Wiper Mode
The Automatic Wiper function is available as an Option with the
Visibility Pack
When this function is active, the Wiper system automatically activates
itself when water is detected on the Windscreen by the Rain Sensor
This function is activated via the Wiper Stalk controls

Front Wiper Operation Automatic Wiper Mode
Confirmation of activation of function by a single wipe
The status of the Automatic Wiper Mode is also shown by a Message
on the Multi-Function Screen [ Automatic Wiper ]
The Wiper Speed will then be regulated by the amount of water
detected by the Rain Sensor.
The heavier the rainfall, the faster the Wiper speed

Front Wiper Operation Single Wipe Operation
By pressing the Wiper Stalk down once, the Wiper system will activate
for one single wipe

Front Wiper Operation Wash Wipe Operation
By pulling the Wiper Stalk towards the Driver once, the Wiper system
will activate the front Windscreen Washers first and then the Wipers
If the Dipped Beam headlights are activated, the Headlamp Washers
will also be activated ( depending on specification )

Front Wiper Operation Wiper Maintenance Operation
To facilitate the servicing of the Wiper system, a special wiper arm
position can be activated,
- Wipers will move towards the top of the windscreen and stop
This special position is known as the Maintenance position
To activate this function,
- Ignition off ( +AA signal cut-off )
- Within 1 minute, press down once on the Wiper Control Stalk
To re-position the Wiper Arms after carrying out the operation, simply
activate the Wiper Control Stalk again

Rear Wiper Operation
There are 2 Modes of Operation for the Rear Wiper System,
- Rear Windscreen Wipe Operation
- Rear Windscreen Wash / Wipe Operation
Operation of the Rear Wiper is via the Wiper Control Stalk

In the event of a Communication Fault between the BSI unit and
CV00 Unit,
- Loss of Rear Wiper function
- Front Wiper operates only in Automatic Mode
( fixed intermittent wipe every 4.5 secs )
In the event of a Communication Fault between the BSI unit and the
Rain Sensor,
- Front Wiper operates only in Automatic Mode
( fixed intermittent wipe every 4.5 secs )
In the event of a Vehicle Speed Information fault,
- Loss of Wiper Speed slaved to Vehicle Speed function

The Electric Folding function may be activated by 2 methods,
- Driver Door Control Plate
- HF Remote Control / Ignition Key [ Automatic Folding ]
If the [ Automatic Folding ] function is configured in the BSI unit, the
Electric Wing Mirrors will automatically fold-in when the vehicle is
locked using the HF Remote Control or Ignition Key
If the [ Automatic Folding ] function is configured, the Electric Wing
Mirrors will automatically deploy if already folded-in, when the +CC
signal is received ( Ignition On )

System Downgraded Modes
If the Vehicle is in ECONOMY Mode, operation of the Electric Wing
Mirror units are inhibited
