Topic Tinh

1. The 1st topic is about my homeland and family.

We can start to talk about my homeland.

My name is Lan. I was born in a peaceful city which is approximately 100km from Hanoi-
the Vietnamese capital. There are many long and wide fields and there are no mountains or
hills. Thai Binh City likes an island sorrounded by water and rivers. The land there is
enriched with alluvial so it is very fertile. The climate is delightful. It has 4 seasons: Spring,
Summer, Autumn and Winter. I like summer the best because I can swim in the swimming
pool and take part in outdoors activities with my friends.
My city may not be the most beautiful in the world but it is exciting. It is the place where I
was born and grew up. Its the place where there are my relatives, my friends and my
teachers.
People are very friendly and hospitable. They-the simple people made a grain of rice,
bearing the character of Vietnam. We eat it daily and its very important for your health. It
is also a raw material to create delicious Cay cake-special of Nguyen village. If you go to
Thai Binh without enjoying it, that counts as not coming to Thai Binh. Besides,Thai Binh
has many beatiful and famous places such as:Keo pagoda, Bo market, Bo pagoda... You can
go there any time. The centre of the city is a big busy market, crowded with shops, malls,
amusement parks and arcades. Words cannot express all beauty of my homeland.Another
reason why I love my hometown is that my school is there. My school is named after a
young hero- who was born on October 20 more than a decade ago. Its on Ngo Quang Bich
Street, in the center of Thai Binh city. The school is surrounded with trees so it is always
green and cool. Therere three blocks of rooms, forms a U- shape. The yard is very large
with red bricks. There are more than 30 classrooms with 50 teachers and 1472 students.
There are playgrounds where we can play football and other games after stressful lessons.
Our school has archieved provincial level outstanding labor group for many years
and met level- 2 national standard. It was awarded second- class Labor Medal by the
President.
With the 40-year-old history of the school, together with good and caring teachers, in
the last school year, when I was in grade 4, I was very happy and proud to archive a gold
medal in the national English Competition through Internet for Grade 5- Students.
I love my school which is a paddle for English passion, not only for me but my brother and
other students at Ly Tu Trong Primary School. Wherever I go in the future, I will never
forget that paddle with deep impression.
Thank you for listening.
