Bargaining Team Update

MVTA and MVSD discussed the following topics:

1. 2017-18 Childrens Center Calendar and Head Start Calendar

Early Head Start (EHS) title was added to the Childrens Center calendar because that
was a 12 month program added this year. Both calendars were aligned to the previously
settled K-8 Calendar. The District will retype the calendars and bring to the table next
time.

2. 2018-19 K-8 School Calendar

MVTA and MVSD discussed a tentative 2018-19 K-8 Calendar. We discussed shifting the
start date to August 20th which would shift the teacher end date to June 15th. We
discussed having Spring break the week before Easter and adding a pupil free day on
Monday after Easter Sunday, because Easter is late in the year. Therefore Spring break
would be from April 15th April 22nd. We would return to work on Tuesday, April 23rd.

3. 2016-17 and 2017-18 Summer Professional Development

MVSD and MVTA discussed Professional Development for August 2017 and June 2018,
without reaching an agreement. MVTA stipulated that professional development days
would be agreed upon after a salary increase was settled.

4. Salary and Class Size

MVSD did not present counter-proposals.

We set a preliminary agenda for our next Bargaining Session.
