Epilogue TON srcsssssssssssssnsssnsssnsssssssssssssserssnsssasssnssssssssssssssssissssensssnsssss TZ Preface ‘You will be nearer to heaven through football than through the study of Bhagvad Gita. You will understand the Gita better with ‘the biceps of your muscles a little stronger —Swami Vivekanand I never thought, not even in my wildest dreams that I would ever write a book, and that too on diabetes! But when I successfully fought my diabetes with the help of solar energy and got rid of the same, I thought of sharing my experience with the diabetic population. Sun is a massive source of natural energy and the greatest aid to all-round health. I thought the diabetics should experience the miraculous healing power of sunlight. The solar energy works like magic in diabetes but one has to have the will- power to work for a cure using it. ‘There must be many diabetics who must have managed to win over their diabetes with sheer will-power but keeping their ideas of getting rid of their diabetes to themselves. There are hardly any books available in the bookstores which are written by diabetics based on their own experience about getting rid of their diabetes or successfully managing their diabetes and avoiding many secondary diseases of heart, kidneys, eyes and nerves caused by diabetes complications. I thought there is need to tell people that type II (non-insulin- dependent) diabetes is not only manageable without medicines but can also be cured with the help of solar energy if a person is 9 10 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy willing to put in efforts; and since the book was the best medium to reach people with my message I decided to write this book with the main thrust on understanding the causes of diabetes and planning a fight with it to get rid of it. I noticed that these days people rely blindly on their doctors and medicines to control their diabetes and also keep looking out for newer medicines, which promise to cure their diabetes. Unfortunately neither oral medicines nor any number of insulin injections can replicate the speed and accuracy of a normally functioning pancreas when it comes to monitoring and controlling blood sugar levels and to help the body to metabolize food into energy. No wonder there are many who take advantage of this tendency and sell highly-priced medicines by promising instant relief in diabetes. In fact, the diabetic population has become a captive customer base of the flourishing diabetes management industry which includes manufacturers of oral medicines, insulin, gluco- meters, urine test strips, Ayurvedic and herbal medicines and so on. When I decided to use solar energy to control my blood sugar levels the main aim was to reduce body’s dependence on sugar for the energy requirement of the cells and it worked. I found that when cells are provided with solar energy, their demand for glucose reduces considerably which in turn results in a decrease in excessive hunger which is one of the main symptoms of diabetes. This in turn lessens the production of ghucase by the body and also the requirement of insulin. Solar energy not only revitalized my body cells, it also improved functioning of my pancreas, beta cells and kidneys and I got rid of my diabetes. One day I found to my surprise that in spite of missing my daily exercise and after a proper lunch, my post- prandial sugar was below 140 mg/dl. Next day, to cross-check it again I missed my morning workout and just relaxed at home after lunch. When I checked my sugar after 2 hours, surprisingly Preface 11 I again found it under normal range and I realized that my pancreas was functioning normally. It was unbelievable; I was wondering how I could get rid of my diabetes when the disease was non-curable. I was happy controlling my diabetes without medicines and a strict diet control with the help of solar energy but getting rid of it was just amazing. I thought my glucose meter must be malfunctioning but it had never failed in showing me those big numbers of my blood sugar level and so I wondered why it should go wrong now. I brought a pack of urine test strips for glucose (diasticks) to check the presence of sugar in my urine. I tested my urine with a diastick one hour after the dinner, it did not show any sugar in the urine. Earlier I would find sugar in my urine once the blood sugar crossed the 160 mark, but now I noticed that even one hour after taking food when the blood sugar level is normally between 180 to 200 mg/dl, no sugar was present in my urine, so there ‘was improvement in my kidney functioning too. I was really happy but I wanted to be 100% sure. Thus, I decided to check my blood sugar in a pathological lab the next morning. I spent a sleepless night; it was the longest night in my life. The time was just not passing by. All the time I was thinking about what my blood test report would show the next day. I got up at 7 o’clock in the morning, had a bath, then went to the gallery, joined my hands and chanted the Gayatri Mantra while looking at the rising sun. I was at the pathological lab by 7.45 am ready for my fasting blood sugar test. I asked the concerned person if I could get the report immediately, but I was asked to come in the afternoon. T went back to the lab around 1 o'clock in the afternoon to collect the report. The moment I came out of the lab, I opened the envelope to see the result, and it was 97 mg/dl! A wave of joy ran through my body. I looked up towards the sky and joined my hands to thank the Sun God because it was He who made it possible. 12. Get rid of diabetes with solar energy My main objective in sharing my story with the diabetics is to encourage them to fight their diabetes rather than just relying ‘on medicines to control it, and get rid of the same with the help of the Sun God. Even if a few diabetics manage to get rid of their diabetes with the help of solar energy, I would say I have achieved my aim in writing this book. I am grateful to Mr. Lokesh Gidwani of Indus Publishing Company, New Delhi for his valuable suggestions for making this book more informative. It would be very difficult to find someone not aware of this deadly disease. Whenever people meet in a family get-together, at a party or at a wedding reception the topic of diabetes always comes up for discussion. It has come to be regarded as the most dreaded disease of the 21st century as there are millions of people suffering from it the world over. Many have a severe condition that may leave them impotent, blind or disabled. Many lose their kidneys, suffer heart attacks and lose their lives every year due to uncontrolled diabetes. It can. be considered as a punishment given to us by nature for staying away from nature and using the development and progress to make our life more and more luxurious. According to a major US study, people with diabetes face triple the risk of liver cancer compared to non-diabetics. Researchers at Houston Veteran Affairs Medical Center analyzed the data on nearly 2100 medicare patients aged 65 and older, all of whom were diagnosed with liver cancer between 1994 and 1999. They then compared that data to the records of 6000 cancer-free patients of 1B 14 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy similar age. After factoring in demographics and other major risk factors, they concluded that diabetes nearly tripled the risk of liver cancer and may be an independent risk factor for this disease. Though unfortunate, India is becoming a major place for diabetes as the disease is growing at a much more rapid speed in India than in other countries. There are over 30 million people suffering from this deadly disease and millions with high profile jobs and luxurious lifestyle are at a high risk of getting diabetes in the years to come, Although the high society and urban middle class people are the main victims of this deadly disease, diabetes is rapidly spreading its wings into semi-urban and rural areas with improvements in the standard of living of people in these areas. ‘The diabetes projections for India pose a frightening picture, as there will possibly be 75 million diabetic patients in India by 2025. Science is the basis of our modern civilization. The magical and wonderful knowledge we call as science has done miracles in the service of man. We have used science to tame nature and bring comfort and leisure into our lives. Science has been protecting us from famine, disease and death. Science has given us electricity. It works our fans, lights our houses, cooks our food and does many countless things. We have made our lives luxurious and comfortable with the help of science. All the modern means of communication are the gifts of science. The telephone and television have reached the remotest areas of the world, The trains, the automobiles and the aircrafts, have shortened time and distance and have brought the people and nations close to each other. However, all this has taken man away from nature. He is no more staying wedded to the laws of the nature. He is depriving himself of the sunlight and fresh air by moving around in air-conditioned vehicles, working in comfortable air-conditioned offices and keeping himself away from undertaking any physical activities even at the work place. Even at home, use of many kitchen appliances is depriving housewives of any physical activities, which normally they would undertake. This is turning them obese and placing them at a high risk of getting diabetes, These days, having an air-conditioned bedroom has become a must for rich people. Even the middle class of Diabetes 15 people are going for air-conditioned bedrooms in order to get some relaxation to their stressful minds. All this has left man to face incurable diseases like cancer and diabetes. While cancer is still an incurable disease, diabetics can call themselves a bit lucky, thanks to Dr. Banting and Dr. Best who invented insulin in the year 1921 Prior to the invention of insulin, diabetes was like a death sentence, as diabetic patients would die within five years of getting diabetes. The doctors too were unable to know why diabetes was causing sugar to pass through urine. The treatments given by them were further adding up to the diabetic’s misery. Many doctors were giving narcotic drugs to relieve their patients from pain while some were asking their patients to eat more simple sugar to make up for the sugar lost through urine. This was bringing about their deaths even faster. It was only in the 1919 when Dr. Oscar Minkowski and Dr. Joseph Merring got the first clue to the cause of diabetes. While trying to find out the possible causes of diabetes they came to a conclusion that the pancreas plays some role in causing diabetes. ‘fo confirm their finding they decided to remove the pancreas of a dog to study the after-effects on the dog. After removing the pancreas of the dog they noticed that the dog was urinating excessively. When Dr. Minkowski noticed a bunch of flies gathered on the urine he suspected the dog was diabetic and to confirm his suspicion he tested the dog’s urine for sugar. It confirmed his suspicion of the dog being diabetic as he found sugar in its urine. This finding finally linked diabetes to the pancreas. However nothing revolutionary happened till 1920. It was in the year 1921 when Dr. Fred Banting, who was trying his best to find some solution to stop the diabetics from dying, thought he could extract insulin from a decomposed pancreas and use the same for lowering the blood sugar levels of diabetic patients. He then approached Professor J.J. MacLeod at the University of Toronto, Canada, requesting him to allow him to use the lab for pursuing his idea. In 1921 Dr, Banting along with his assistant Dr. Best started extracting insulin from decomposed pancreases and also managed to lower the blood sugar levels of a 16 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy severely diabetic dog with insulin injections. The dog was kept alive for several months and this brought in the revolution in diabetes treatment. Leonard Thompson, a fourteen-year-old boy became the first person. to receive the insulin treatment for controlling his blood sugar levels and this reduced the diabetes from a deadly disease to an incurable but manageable chronic disease. With the invention of insulin and oral medicines, diabetics are now able to keep their diabetes under control. It has also extended the average life expectancy of the diabetics to over four times. The following table shows the same. Prior to the invention of insulin Alter the invention of insulin The patient would live for 4-5 years _Lives up to 25 years Juvenile diabetic would live for Lives up to 30 years a maximum 2 years Undergoing surgery was fatal It is no more risky now 60% patients suffered from diabetic Now less than 5% suffer from. coma diabetic coma With the invention of insulin and oral medicines, diabetes, which was no less than a death sentence was reduced to an incurable chronic disease. With five-fold increase in life expectancy people were happy with what they received and this shifted the focus of scientists from finding a cure for diabetes to finding better tools of diabetes management. This is the reason why insulin remains the main remedy for managing diabetes even 84 years after its invention, while diabetes still remains an incurable chronic disease, Unfortunately most of us do not think it necessary to have proper knowledge of this disease. Even the educated diabetics do not bother to have detailed knowledge about it and have many misconceptions. I was no different, though my father and mother were diabetics, I never tried to know anything in detail about diabetes, ALL I thought was people who eat too much sweets get, diabetes as my father was very much fond of sweets. In our family and among close relatives there are over ten Diabetes 17 diabetics, however, when I spoke to them after I got diabetes to know a bit about this disease, surprisingly none of them had correct knowledge about this. All they knew was that their blood sugar goes up every now and then which is called diabetes and since the disease was incurable they were not supposed to stop the intake of medicines under any circumstances. The food items like sugar, sweets, rice, potato; sweet fruits like mango etc. were totally banned for them. No one knew the possible causes of diabetes. However, there are many who are willing to give you free advice on diet, medicines and special tips for controlling the blood sugar levels. You will also find many non-diabetics giving you advice on what food to eat, and which Ayurvedic medicines are good for diabetes, They will also not forget to tell you that this is the most deadly among all the diseases and that there is no fun left in life once you get diabetes, all the while expressing there heart-felt sympathies. Fortunately I have a strong belief that there is some solution for every disease with nature and it has helped me in my fight against diabetes and to get rid of the same. My experience says it is a must for each and every diabetic to educate himself about diabetes. You must have proper knowledge about diabetes since it is an incurable disease and it is the only way to give a successful fight to it and save yourself from the dire consequences of diabetes. Even the non-diabetics should keep themselves informed about this disease, should have knowledge about the symptoms and the possible causes of diabetes as they too are at a high risk of getting it due to the present-day lifestyle. Iwish to share my experiences with you all with the hope that it would help you to keep this silent killer disease under control all the time. This can be done in a natural way, that too without medicines and strict dieting thereby keeping you safe from the side-effects of medicines and getting addicted to tablets. Some one has very rightly said ‘where there is a will, there is a way’, so if you have the will-power to fight, if you do not believe in short cuts and if you can do exercises like walking briskly daily for 30 minutes to one hour, I am very sure that you can keep your diabetes very much under control or even have it cured, 2 And I was told that I was diabetic Health is not valued till sickness comes. Thomas Fuller I am from Goa, the land of beautiful beaches, rivers, temples, churches and lush greenery on the west coast of India, and I run a Kodak Express store in Vasco-da-Gama, the port town of Goa. I was leading a “susegad” life like a true Goan. Goans are famous for their susegad lifestyle. Susegad is a Portuguese word, which means a comfortable tension-free life, Since Portuguese have ruled Goa for almost 150 years, plenty of Portuguese words are freely used in Konkani, the official language of Goa. Goans love to enjoy their life, leaving aside the tensions of life. They love to celebrate every occasion, whether it is their festivals or the annual day celebrations of the churches and the temples, the camivals and the shigmotsavs or the Saturday night parties—they just enjoy themselves. In spite of the present-day competition, many offices and establishments still have a two-hour lunch interval, while the shops remain closed for lunch for three to four hours to enable both the employers and the employees to go home, have lunch, have a afternoon nap and come back refreshed 18 And I was told that I was diabetic 19 It was 31st December, the last day of the year 2002. I was working on the lab machine in our Colour Lab while planning about a New Year party with the fellow staff members. We decided to go to a beach party to celebrate the New Year. In the afternoon I turned my chair and got up to go home fot lunch, and suddenly I felt as if everything was spinning above my head. I sat back in my chair thinking I would feel better in a while, however, I did not get any relief, Instead I found that my heart beats were shooting up, I was suddenly feeling very tired and weak and my vision was getting blurred. I did not understand what was happening to me. I never had any serious health problems till that day. Thus it came as a big shock to me. I got up from my seat but lost my balance even before I could stand straight. I felt as if the ground had been pulled from under my feet. I sat back in the chair again, my whole body was trembling and the sweat had started flowing down on my cheeks. Somehow I came out of the shop but was losing balance while walking, I thought of calling one of the staff members for help but decided against it. I was sweating profusely. Thad not had dinner the previous night thus I thought it might be due to weakness as I was feeling dizzy. I went to a nearby restaurant, had some snacks and drank a cup of tea. However instead of feeling better I felt like vomiting. Somehow I reached the taxi stand and took a taxi to go home. The moment I reached home I rushed to the basin and started vomiting violently. I almost fell unconscious after vomiting. “Shradha, get me a glass of fresh lime water please”, I told my wife. I thought I would get some energy drinking it. “What's wrong with you? What did you cat?”, my wife asked me while making fresh lime water for me. “I do not know why this is happening to me”, I murmured. I drank the fresh lime water but within moments my body threw it out. I felt as if my stomach was on fire and was not able to understand what was happening to me. “Shradha, please take me to a hospital else I might die today”, I told my wife. Looking at my state she decided to take me to a hospital. ‘Unfortunately, in the hospital all were in a holiday mood. Only 20 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy one senior doctor was available but he too was in a mood of leaving at the earliest. I was asked to lie on a table in OPD. My wife was trying to catch the attention of the doctor but he was pretending to be too busy. Here my conditiort was deteriorating, the hospital roof appeared to be spinning above my head, and when I closed my eyes I felt like I was sitting in a giant wheel. Finally my wife managed to catch the doctor's attention and requested him to examine me. On examining me he declared it as a case of food poisoning. I was shifted to a makeshift room and given some injections. By evening I felt better and I was discharged from the hospital as the doctor had told the nurses to discharge me in the evening, The next day I felt better and thus we all took it as a food poisoning case. However even after a few days I was not feeling 100% fit and would get a feeling that something was wrong with my body but was unable to know what exactly was wrong with me. The weakness in the body was still there. My legs would start trembling if I stood up on a stool or on the edge of some object. Simple activities like pulling down shutters of my shop, climbing up the stairs to reach my second floor house, moving a slightly heavier object from one place to another were leaving me tired. In fact I had employed a part-time assistant to assist me in closing my lab premises in the night. Thad started sitting with a chilled water bottle while at work to quench my thirst as I was experiencing excessive thirst, and would get up for urination within minutes after consuming water. In spite of drinking the water the thirst would not subside, and instead I would feel like drinking a chilled soft drink or a beer to get rid of the same. There was increase in hunger too, after urinating, suddenly I would feel very hungry and I would rash to my favorite Chinese restaurant and have chilled beer with some snacks. I was noticing these changes in me but was not able to understand why this was happening to me. After a month I had a similar problem and I was rushed to the hospital. Luckily this time the doctor was not in a holiday mood. I was admitted in the hospital as the doctor wanted to find out the exact cause of my problem. My blood and urine And I was told that I was diabetic 21 samples were sent for laboratory tests. My fasting blood sugar was over 231 mg/dl and LDL cholesterol was 301. The triglycerides were also very much on the higher side. After seeing my reports the doctor asked me to get my post-prandial sugar checked, which. was again over 350 mg/dl. In the evening the doctor entered my hospital room, and after going through my reports he said with a worried face, “I am sorry to tell you Mr. Shinde, you have diabetes”. I just listened to him with no expression of any worry on my face. The doctor must have been surprised to notice that. He handed over a prescription to me while explaining to my wife and me about the timing for the tablets to be taken every day. “How long do I have to take these tablets?”, I asked the doctor. “Rest of your life, Mr. Shinde! Because, diabetes is an incurable disease.” The doctor said this with such an expression on his face indicating he felt sorry for me for my lack of knowledge about diabetes, and I felt a needle of pain piercing through my heart after knowing that I was diagnosed with an incurable disease, My hand with which I was holding the prescription started trembling. It came as a big shock to me. It was difficult for me to believe that I was a diabetic. My father had died just six months ago because of diabetes but I never even thought in my dreams that I would have to face the same disease in such a short span of time. My mind was not ready to accept the facts in the report. “How could I get diabetes when I have always stayed away from sweet food?”, I asked myself. This is what happens when disaster strikes you all of a sudden, you are so ill-prepared to face it; you instantly go into denial mode. ‘You start cursing your fate, body and even God for making you face such a disease. I decided to go for a fresh blood test. Immediately after getting discharged from the hospital, I went to another lab asking for my lipid profile with fasting blood sugar. Next day morning I went to the lab to collect my report wishing it would prove the previous ones wrong, But alas! This too had the same story to tell. Now I had no option but to accept myself as a diabetic. I had never bothered to know anything in detail about the disease my father was suffering from and unfortunately 22 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy now I was left to face the same disease. Besides the list of tablets to be taken everyday after breakfast, lunch and dinner, the doctor had also given me a pamphlet showing what food to eat and what to avoid. He had also verbally told me to stop eating rice, sugar, sweet fruits, sweets, potatoes etc. but never told the reasons behind this. All I was told that I would have to continue taking these medicines rest of my life. I always thought that diabetes was like other diseases, the medicines could be stopped after the blood sugar levels come within normal range. However, my wife was aware of all this, she made a special medicine box for me, made a special file for keeping all my reports, medicine prescriptions etc, Tt was very disgusting to know that the intake of medicines were a life-long process now. I was not very upset when I was told about my diabetes but was more upset when I was told that there was no cure for diabetes, and these medicines would accompany me till I breathed my last. The list of tablets was endless. I had also developed hypertension due to diabetes. Thus, besides diabetes tablets, there were blood pressure tablets, tablets for vertigo and tablets for nausea too. It was a big job to keep track of all these tablets and to remember their intake timings. 1 had become restless and had literally lost my sleep. Soon I got serious about my diabetes because I did not want to keep taking medicines rest of my life. I had seen my father getting addicted to these tablets and seen him suffer with the side effects of long-term intake of medicines. He was so much addicted to tablets that he would get restless if his tablets were over and if they were not brought immediately. Due to long-term intake of medicines, he was not able to make out the taste of food whether it was sweet, sour or pungent. He was also unable to differentiate between different smells. I did not want to live on medicines for entire life and decided to fight my diabetes. I asked many friends and relatives if they knew any good medicine for diabetes, which could cure it, but unfortunately the answer was always negative. They knew medicines which were good for controlling blood sugar levels, but there were no medicines which would cure diabetes. I had decided to fight my And I was told that I was diabetic 23 diabetes but did not understand what to do and how to go about it. I spoke to my doctor to get come information on diabetes but he just showed me a poster showing diabetes complications and details of organs which could get damaged due to uncontrolled diabetes. 3 Take diabetes as a wake-up call © health! health! the blessing of the rich! the riches of the poor! who can buy it at too dear a rate, since there is no enjoying this world without thee. —Ben Jonson had brought my sugar levels within normal range with the help of medicines, diet control and a bit of exercising but did not understand how to start the fight with this disease. It was very difficult to get any information from my doctor as he was a busy man and I couldn't blame him for that. Diabetes is not a subject which can be explained to you in one sitting. I bought a book on diabetes to know more about this disease and continued buying more books one after another to try and know more and more about diabetes. All the books had all the details about diabetes but no book showed any hope of curing this disease. All the books dealt about controlling it with the help of medicines, diet and exercise. However, these books helped me in getting some knowledge about diabetes. 1 understood that diabetes was the result of being careless about your own health and remembered the saying ‘Health is Wealth’. How true it is! It is really very sad when you have the money to spend but your health doesn’t permit you to do so. I a Take diabetes as a wake-up call 25 understood that if | have to keep myself physically and mentally fit I must value my health. In fact the first lesson in diabetes for all of us is to start valuing our own. health; if you have lost it, work hard and try and regain it and once it is regained try your best to retain it. All of us are so busy in our life in getting settled, becoming successful and achieving our own goals that for years we do not get time to look after our own body or take care of it. Actually we do not think it necessary to look after it. We leave all the worries of our health to the family physicians and feel free to slog for achieving our goals. If our family physician fails to treat a disease then we turn to specialist medical professionals, super specialists and then to the high-tech hospitals. We simply prefer relying on medicines for all our health problems 42-year-old diabetic cousin of mine had a strong faith in her medicines like millions of other diabetics. Even after all the precautions, strict diet control and weight management, her oral medicines lost their effectiveness and she had to switch over to insulin to maintain better control over her blood sugar levels. Recently she was attending a diabetic camp organized by a reputed hospital in Mumbai. While doing a light workout during the camp she had a severe heart attack and collapsed on the ground and had to undergo a bypass surgery. ‘The bypass surgery has literally shattered her confidence. Now she thinks twice even before starting a brisk walk, leave alone undertaking exercises for controlling diabetes. This shows that excessive reliance on medicines to control diabetes is sometimes harmful for diabetics, as with medicines and insulin you can only delay the onset of secondary diseases of heart, kidneys, nerves and eyes caused by diabetes but cannot avoid them permanently. As such, getting rid of diabetes or controlling it naturally with the help of solar energy, as experienced by me, is what I feel is the best option. ‘Our reliance on medicines has gone to such an extent that we try and find instant solutions for all our problems with medicines, and the pharmaceutical companies are also obliging us by providing medicines for all our health problems. If you look 26 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy into a drug store you will find medicines for almost everything. Besides drugs for diseases, you find medicines for stress, weakness, medicines for increasing muscle power as well as sex power, medicines for reducing weight and increasing weight, medicines for increasing height, the fairness creams, the pain- relieving creams and sprays, medicines for increasing breasts size— the list is endless. We want medicines for every petty problem. However, this excessive reliance on medicines is only providing us with artificial health and we cannot blame medical science for that, as it is only fulfilling our demands. T remember during my childhood days, besides a Government hospital there was also a private clinic run by one Dr. Koyaji in our village. I would always see people queued up at his clinic while returning from school and would feel jealous about the doctor. Not because he was getting many patients but because I thought that he was the luckiest person in the village as he would never die since he knew the medicines for all the diseases. ‘One fine day when the doctor died I was shocked. How could this happen? I asked myself, To clear my doubt I asked my father “Dada, how come the doctor died? Did he not take medicines for his disease?” “No Kunal, he did not know the medicine which could cure his disease, in fact we all are destined to die one day and when that time comes no number of injections and medicines will be of any help", my father replied, That was the day I came to know that death does not spare even doctors. But our problem is we are ready to slog for earning money but when it comes to good health we do not want to put in any effort; we want the doctors and the medicines to do the needful for us. The development in science and technology have completely changed our lives, everything is instantly made available to us, ‘We too have become so much used to all this that we just don’t like to wait for anything. Even we expect the food to be served instantly, No wonder so many fast food joints have mushroomed in every nook and corner. Though the fast and processed food is bad for health, we are not bothered because we do not have time to wait. People prefer packaged or canned juice rather than juice Take diabetes as a wake-up call 27 from fresh fruits because there is no time for anyone for cleaning and peeling the fruits and straining and pouring the juice in a glass after extracting the juice. We want everything ready to cat and ready to use. With day-to-day development in science and technology, almost everything is made available to us instantly and people have made it a habit of receiving everything instantly and without putting in much efforts. Unfortunately we try to deal with all our health-related problems in the same way. We want medical science to provide instant solutions for all our health problems, but, we forget that the human body is a creation of the nature, it is not a man-made machine. To have a sound health we got to follow the laws of the nature. We got to try and stay healthy naturally and take the help of medical science only in the time of crisis. People in the western countries have understood the impor- tance of natural health and millions of people are turning to Yoga, naturopathy and sun therapy to regain their natural health. No wonder a large number of western tourists rush to Goa during October to April to enjoy the sunbath and fresh non-polluted air. ‘They have come to know the importance of sunlight in strengthening the immune system of the body. It is believed that marks of sunburns on the skin are indicators of stronger immune system of the body. However, here in India where ample sunlight is available for almost nine months in a year we are trying our very best to save ourselves from sunlight fearing it may tun our skin dark, may harm our eyes, may cause skin diseases, may trigger hair loss and so on. The skin turns darker in the sunlight but it is for a short time and tums to its original colour if you continue to work or exercise in the sunlight. Gur problem is, once the medical science stamps something as bad we do not wish to go against it even if it weakens the immune system of our body and makes us dependent on doctors and medicines for staying fit and maintaining our health. It is a high time now that we Indians understand the impor- tance of natural health. Health is a positive state of well-being 28 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy where every organ of the body system functions normally and is in harmony with each other. In natural health, the body's defense mechanism is strong enough to resist diseases while artificial health is obtained through the use of medicines, vaccinations, antitoxins etc. When a person’s natural defense mechanism of the body weakens, he needs medicines even for coughs and colds. Earlier, heart patients were rushed to the hospitals by their concerned children and grand children. The reverse seems to be gradually becoming a trend now. Many times you see parents accompanying their son coming to hospital saying their son has had a heart attack though the family has no history of heart disease. In fact, doctors say that more and more people in their 20s and 30s are undergoing bypass surgeries. This is all happening because of the present-day lifestyle and the artificial health of the young generation these days. A study conducted by the National Heart Institute shows that 10.4% of people who undergo bypass surgery were still in their 40s. Even women earlier thought to be protected against heart disease till menopause are falling prey to it at a younger age, which is mainly because of inactive lifestyle, lack of exercise and wrong diet. Recently, my 12-year-old son had a fall and got hurt. The wound was very small which we neglected it thinking it would heal at its own. However, in a few days’ time it caught infection and started spreading to other parts of his leg. We took him to a child specialist who gave him an injection and prescribed some medicines to be taken for a week. In spite of week-long medication the wound did not heal and we took him back to the doctor who in tum asked us to get his blood sugar test done. It was shocking but I had no alternative but to take him for a blood sugar test at a tender age of twelve. Fortunately his blood sugar was normal and we heaved a sigh of relief. The doctor prescribed stronger medicines and the wound got healed in a week's time. This shows that even children are losing their natural defense mechanism of the body and have to turn to medicines for petty health problems and we the over-ambitious parents are responsible for it. Our excessive expectations about their academic Take diabetes as a wake-up call 29 performance is making them prone to obesity and chronic diseases like diabetes. If we look at the present-day lifestyle of the school-going children we will find the causes of their artificial health. Normally a child spends six hours in the school, and after coming back from the school, within an hour or two he goes for his tuitions. By the time he comes back from tuitions it is evening, then again he has to complete his homework and after that whatever free time he gets he remains glued to television, watching his favourite programmes or to his computer. One can only imagine the amount of stress children carry on their heads and with such a busy schedule they have no time for physical activities. How will they remain physically fit? A child can keep himself physically fit through outdoor games like cricket and football. This can also expose his body to direct sunlight and get some fresh air for his body, which are the basic minimum needs of our body. Children are required to expose their bodies to direct sunlight at least for an hour everyday by playing or exercising in the sunlight, to fulfil the body’s requirement of valuable vitamin D and to strengthen the defense mechanism of the body. But the parents do not wish to compromise with his tuition timings, as they fear it could affect his performance in the exams. Schools have half an hour for physical training, that too not everyday, which is just not sufficient, and unfortunately most of the schools do not have playgrounds where the children can engage in brisk sports and games. These days almost all children have to use school buses or other transport to go to the school, as such here also they are depriving themselves of any physical activity, which they could undertake by walking or cycling to the school, No wonder child obesity has become a cause of concern all over the world these days. Children have become more prone to diseases and more and more children are turning diabetic due to stress of achieving the targets set by their parents and the teachers, and due to their non-active lifestyle. Mr. Michael Corleone of ‘The Godfather’ has said, “The only 30 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy wealth in this world is children. More than all the money, power on the earth”, We got to realize this fact and give equal impor- tance to the physical fitness of the children. We need our next generation to be highly educated but they should also have bodies with powerful defense mechanism against illnesses and radiant health. These days many schools are conducting workshops on child obesity and diabetes, but what is the use of such workshops if no attention is paid to make sure that the children have non- stressful lifestyle, they have sufficient time for sports and other extra-curricular activities. Unfortunately the main thrust in our schools is on the percentage of marks obtained in exams. Although this is important, a student's overall development is also equally important. We parents have to take the health of our children seriously, teach them to value their health and the importance of improving and maintaining it, We get diabetes in our forties but if we do not take care of our children, our next generation might start getting diabetes even in their thirties. We got to realize the seriousness of this problem, The school management should also be pressurized to have at least one full hour exclusively for physical training everyday, for which students should be taken to a nearby playground. Besides this one full day in a week or fortnight should be reserved for physical training, sports and other activities. On this day the students should be asked to come to school without the school bag, at least once in a week or fortnight let them not carry any stress on their minds. Stress is one of the main causes of diabetes because body makes sugar from its reserves or from fats and protein in the muscles during stress and tension, and if the children remain under stress right from their childhood it is going to have an adverse effect on their health at a later stage when they would be actually required to remain healthy to face the challenges in life. There is no second opinion about the importance of medical science in our lives. Medical science has done miracles in the service of the man; it has increased the longevity of people all Take diabetes as a wake-up call 31 over the world. However, excessive reliance on medicines to remain fit has taken man away from nature and from positive health. He no longer abides by the laws of nature. ‘Nature's law controls the whole universe. It controls even the mighty sun, the sea and the wind. The sun rises and sets as per its schedule everyday, there is a high tide and low tide every six hours in the sea. Imagine the sun not rising for a few days or if the wind stops blowing, there will be total chaos. In fact our very existence on this planet depends on the sun and the nature. Many times we experience nature’s wrath when the sea and the wind retaliate against human interference with the laws of nature and incessant destruction of nature. The most recent one is the devastating Tsunami, which hit the coasts in Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India, creating havoc in these countries. Man and science become helpless when nature shows its fury. We are supposed to abide by the laws of the nature but ‘unfortunately man alone is the law-breaker and violator of nature's rules. He is so much overconfident about the advances made by medical science that he willfully disrespects the laws of health, leads a careless life and then wonders why he suffers from diseases like cancer and diabetes. ‘Our body has been working tirelessly for us since our birth to help us achieve our goals in life and now it is our turn to give back its due. So at least now we should give up our excessive reliance on medicines and not think of shortcuts to get well especially with a disease like diabetes. When you get diabetes it means your body has finally broken down after the tireless work of trying to run it with all the junk food we have been eating and tackling our overeating habits involving high fat and carbohydrate- rich foods. In chapter 5, I have compared the human body with a car to try and understand what diabetes is, and a diabetic person has to be in the driver's seat of this human machine, He is supposed to manoeuvre his car through all the obstacles on the path of diabetes to reach his destination of getting rid of his diabetes, but unfortunately most of the diabetics hand over the steering of their car to their doctors and medicines and try and relax at the 32 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy back seat. A diabetic person must educate himself about diabetes because only he can understand his diabetes better than anybody else. ‘Take diabetes as a red signal given by your body. Take it as a wake-up call from your body saying it needs your attention now. It wants you to exercise regularly to revitalize your cells and muscles. It wants you to control your diet, else there will be no alternative but to face the dire consequences of diabetes. Do not run after medicines that promise you immediate relief in diabetes. Instead of cursing God for your diabetes, take it as a second chance given to you by God to appreciate and lead a disciplined life. Remember the days when you were physically fit and non-diabetic, how energetic you used to feel. Had we appreciated and respected our life then, we would not have landed in this problem now. In diabetes there is no substitute for discipline and exercise. Even while using solar energy to control diabetes, exercises like brisk walking for half an hour to one hour is a must. Diabetes is a disease caused by the body's failure to provide energy to our cells therefore you have got to energize your body cells to obtain better control over diabetes. The cells cannot get energized and revitalized without exercise and without this proper control over diabetes is not possible. There is one question you have to ask yourself, “Am I going to devote at least one hour everyday for my health?” Now you have to change your attitude to change yourself. Only you have the ability to change your lifestyle, others cannot do it for you. Once you decide this, no one can stop you from changing but it is not possible until you make a beginning. Diabetes is nothing but the body's retaliation against our negligence tawards our own health, our bad habits and luxurious lifestyle. Due to our habit of pampering our taste buds with tasty but high calorie food, we often overeat and the pancreas and the beta cells have to work overtime to churn out the additional insulin required to metabolize this high calorie food into energy, and store the excess energy in the form of glycogen and fats. Fortunately our body is sturdy enough to take on all this but Take diabetes as a wake-up call 33 when this goes on and on for years it badly affects the functioning of pancreas and then one fine day the body retaliates against all cour bad habits and tries to give us a wake-up call by stopping converting sugar into energy and we become diabetic. So take diabetes as a wake-up call from your body and start giving one hour of your day for your health, take up the challenge of diabetes and experience the pleasure of controlling diabetes without medicines and strict dieting and feel the difference. You will thank diabetes for waking you up, teaching you a lesson and showing you the importance of a healthy and energetic life. Once you get rid of your diabetes you will start loving your energetic body and then automatically stay away from alcoholic drinks, fast foods and other bad habits or at least have proper control over their intake. You will realize that you are not living to eat but eating to live, so let us take up the challenge of diabetes. Taking up the challenge of diabetes 37 though I did not know how I would do that. T logged on to the various websites on the internet providing information on diabetes; referred to the books I had bought earlier to get some more information. I decided not to just depend on medicines to control my diabetes merely because millions of others do it thinking it is an incurable disease. As I was thinking of ways to fight my diabetes I understood what diabetes was. It was nothing but a punishment given to me by my body for not valuing my health and looking after it properly. We carefully look after our vehicles, machineries and other electronic and electrical equipments at home and offices. We make sure that no one misuses them, undertake appropriate servicing and maintenance regularly, but do we look after our body with the same care? I do not think the prospective diabetics worry much about their health, it is only when they get diabetes, they repent for not exercising to keep the body fit and not controlling the overeating habits. But there are people who never wake up. They prefer relying on their doctors and medicines and look out for shortcuts to get well. When the allopathic medicines lose their effectiveness they turn to ayurvedic medicines, then to homeopathic or herbal medicines. When everything fails they turn to the godmen and finally to God in search of some miracle to cure their diabetes. It is said that we turn towards God to obtain the impossible but these days people first turn towards medical science to obtain the impossible and then to God. Our problem is we want instant solutions without putting in any efforts and thus keep running after medicines. A diabetic person sees many cases of his near and dear ones suffering from the secondary diseases caused by diabetes but in spite of this he tries to follow the same path thinking he is different. He thinks that he has better control over his diabetes than those suffering from diabetes complications and as such he need not worry about the secondary diseases. Unfortunately he remains unaware of the fact that in spite of controlling diabetes with medicines, the diabetes continues to cause damage to the body. Medical science doesn’t promise us 38. Get rid of diabetes with solar energy any cure for diabetes, and a patient is not kept in the dark about it. However, in spite of this people keep searching for medicines to cure their diabetes rather than looking out for an alternate therapy. . The cardiovascular changes start very early in diabetes. It starts causing damage to the tiny blood vessels, but it takes many years for the symptoms to show up. About 80% people with diabetes develop cardiovascular diseases and about 65% die from it. Therefore a diabetic person has no alternative but to take up the challenge of diabetes and fight it to get rid of it. Every diabetic person stands a chance of getting rid of his diabetes with the help of solar energy as long as he is able to control his blood sugar levels with oral medicines, but this is not possible unless we give up the excessive reliance on our doctors and medicines and try and regain natural health. Many people are seen grumbling about the exorbitant fees charged by the doctors. Many think the doctors cheated them by asking for unnecessary tests but no one thinks that it is not the doctors who invite us to their clinics, it is we who approach them on our own with our health problems, and that too when everything goes beyond our control. We got to blame ourselves for our sheer negligence towards our health. Had we valued our health and taken care to remain physically fit we would not have landed in this problem. Many times a patient feels the doctor hasn’t given a proper treatment if costly medicines are not prescribed, various tests are not done and a hefty fee is not charged. They complain only when they do not get quick relief, A doctor friend of mine had told me this fact. He also told me that many patients are not happy if only tablets are prescribed; they want an injection as well. As such many times even if a patient does not require any injection, the doctor injects him with some vitamin to keep the patient happy. Diabetes is not a disease, in the sense that it is not caused by any virus infection, but caused due to malfunctioning of certain organs like pancreas. It is a condition of the body and there are no viruses which the medicines could climinate to free a diabetic patient from diabetes. Unfortunately diabetic people do not try Taking up the challenge of diabetes 39 to understand this fact and keep trying different medicines with the hope of getting rid of their diabetes. A diabetic person has to eradicate the root causes of his diabetes, which is not possible without putting in some efforts. If you desire buoyant, vibrant health you can get it only if you have the will-power to work for it ‘When I tried to find out why diabetes, which was limited to rich people about 50 years back, is spreading its wings among the middle class and lower middle class population now, I felt the main reason behind it was the lifestyle changes brought in by the rapid progress and development in the middle and lower class population. If you look at the present-day lifestyle of people and compare it with the lifestyle of people during earlier days, it will not be difficult to understand why millions of people are suffering from diabetes and many other diseases, the world over. Formerly, people were relying on natural health to fight many diseases as very few people had money to spend on medication. They were engaged in moderate to heavy activities for earning money. The transport facilities had not reached every nook and corner of the country and people would walk or cycle for miles in the sunlight to reach their workplace. They used to work in bright sunlight and fresh non-polluted air, which strengthened their body's immune system keeping them safe from many diseases. These days people undertake light activities, due to well- developed transport network. The public transport buses are available at the doorstep by which people can easily reach their workplaces or from the nearby railway stations reach their destination. As such, people do not have to walk much during their day-to-day life which deprives them of any exercise and exposure to sunlight which they could get during walking. The comfortable air-conditioned working environments are also keeping them away from sunlight and fresh air, which weakens their immune system. These days people are also not devoting any time for exercises in sunlight or outdoor sports. Due to sedentary lifestyle, no strenous activities are undertaken at workplace, which is making 40 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy them totally dependent on food to obtain energy for body's functioning, If you compare the energy consumption of people during olden days and now, you will understand why people these days are more prone to chronic diseases like diabetes. ‘Ways of obtaining the caloric Energy requirement per day = 2000 calories Then ‘Through sunlight (through walking/ 30% (600) nil working in sunlight) ‘Through food 70% (1400) 100% (2000) TaleloressSs*~=—iC Energy consumption: ‘Total energy to be consumed 2000 Solar energy directly consumed 30% (600) nil by the body ‘Through activities during work 30% (600) 10% (100) ‘Through pancreas with the help 40% (800) 90% (1900) of insulin ‘Total calories 2000 2000 The above chart shows that formerly the middle class people were using only 40% of their daily calorie requirement through pancreas whereas now 90% of the calories are consumed through pancreas with the help of insulin. This brings tremendous workload on pancreas for churning out insulin everyday to fulfil the energy requirement of body cells which finally leads to its malfunctioning and that is why more and more people are turning diabetic these days. These days we are careless about the basic minimum require- ments of our internal body or you can say the organ system of our body. We only try and provide all the luxuries to ourselves, provide the costliest medicines, the expertise of the specialist doctors by paying hefty fees and think that we are properly looking after our own health, but unfortunately it is not true. In fact, this way we are only trying to gain an artificial health and in tum Taking up the challenge of diabetes 41 neglecting our own health. If we try and find out what the basic minimum requirements of our body are we will understand this point better. For a moment imagine our organ system and our external body as two different entities and compare the facilities we provide to both of them. During our day-to-day life we provide many facilities to ourselves and to our employees to improve their efficiency. We provide ourselves a car, a well-equipped air-conditioned office, computer and many other things to carry out day-to-day business with efficiency. We also provide a comfortable working environ- ment to our employees, good salary with bonus and other perks so that they discharge their duties efficiently, But do we think in the same way about the organ system of our body? Unfortunately we don’t! Following are the facilities we need to provide to our body to gain and maintain radiant health. . Fresh air Direct exposure to sunlight . Nutritional food Rest and recreation Pranayam . Regular exercise Positive attitude. NAMPONE Fresh air Fresh air is not only essential but also a must for good health. If grains, pulses, vegetables, meat etc. are food for our body, air is food of our soul. The soul cannot survive very long without the fresh air; that is why we continue to breathe as long as we are alive and we stop breathing the moment we are dead. Oxygen inhaled by us during respiration plays an important part in our body, It is necessary for each and every function of our body organs as it is essential for burning the nutrient material inside the body cells. You cannot have pure blood and healthy organs if the body does not get fresh air. Exercising, walking or playing in the fresh non-polluted air provides our skin a chance 42 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy to breathe, which in turn promotes elimination of waste matter and it has a very revitalizing effect upon the nervous system. ‘Are we providing fresh non-polluted air to our organ system, which includes important organs like heart, lungs, liver, brain, and kidneys and most importantly for diabetics, the pancreas? Unfortunately the answer to this question is a big No! Most of us live in cities where air is polluted due to industrialization, heavy vehicular traffic and deforestation. ‘We got to spend some time in parks or at a place where there are lots of trees and plants. We all have learnt during our school days that the plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen during respiration and photosynthesis. Naturally the air around the area where there are lots of plants and trees is non-polluted and fresh and suitable for our organ system. All of us are so much busy especially the diabetics that we never get time to move out of the concrete jungle, however, if you wish to fulfil this basic and most important need of our body we must exercise in fresh air. Instead of going for a walk in the building complex or exercising indoors at home or in a gym, go to a nearby park or a non-polluted or a least polluted area for your daily workouts. This will take care of your daily exercise as well as the need of providing fresh air to your body. Do not wear tight and full-length clothes during exercise. Many times the clothing is so tight and dense that it does not allow the skin to breathe freely, which in turn does not allow elimination of the porous exhalation. The body keeps reabsorbing its own poisonous excretions, which is as bad as sleeping in a closed room without ventilation and also harmful to health. Make sure that you wear minimum required clothes during exercise, so that the maximum body is exposed to the direct sunlight and air, Remember, the particular parts of the body, which we try and hide carefully, need sunlight and fresh air more than any other part of the body. As such, whenever you get an opportunity expose them to fresh air and sunlight because it is an invaluable and revitalizing tonic. Always wear loose, airy, cotton clothes during the workouts. Taking up the challenge of diabetes 43 Direct exposure to sunlight Sun is the ultimate source of energy; the sunlight not only revitalizes and rejuvenates the entire organ system of our body, it is also the next important source of energy for our body besides food. There can be no life on this planet without the sun. As such, no one can deny the fact that the sunlight is as important for our survival on earth as food, oxygen, and water are. Where does all the energy that man uses comes from? For all the physiological work done within his body and for the move- ments he makes to undertake various activities, man gets energy from the food he eats. His food comes from plants and animals and the foodstuffs he gets from plants and animals contain solar energy stored in the form of chemical energy. The potential energy of water stored at a height, chemical energy stored in various fuels like diesel, petrol, biogas, and kerosene all have their origin in the sun’s energy. Therefore, it is clear that the sun is the ultimate source of all the various forms of energy we use. ‘The contact of sunrays with the skin produces an effect similar to those caused by food we eat, as such, the sunlight actually works like food. It is found that when food is exposed to sunlight it acquires nutritional values which it did not have before. Even fifteen to thirty minutes exposure of our body to direct sunlight daily can improve and strengthen the immune system of our body resulting in sound health—strong arms, legs and glowing skin. Increased exposure to sunlight may decrease the risk of prostate cancer in men, scientists have said. Researchers led by Esther John of the Northern California Cancer Center have found that men with high sun exposure have half the risk of prostate cancer than people with low sun exposure. ‘The research studied 450 non-Hispanic white patients who had advanced prostate cancer with a matched control group of 455 men who did not suffer from the disease. Prostate is a walnut- sized gland located at the base of the bladder that surrounds the urethra, the tube through which urine exits from the body. Cancer of the prostate is linked to ageing and tends to affect men after the age of fifty. 118 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy breathing get normal. Start your brisk walk and jogging once again. You can also do some other type of exercise instead of jogging, however, it should be strenuous enough to make you feel tired. During strenuous exercise the cells are able to use the solar energy and also the blood sugar more effectively. Initially do the above exercise for half an hour and slowly increase it up to one hour. The first few days will be a testing time of your will-power as there will be lots of pain in your legs but do not stop exercising. If required apply pain-teliever sprays or creams but do not take a break from your exercise. The pain will disappear in a few days’ time. If you continue to have muscle pain even after a month of regular exercising check your blood uric acid. If it is higher than the normal range consult your doctor and take necessary medicines to bring it down. Avoid cating shell- fish, red meat and organ meat. Higher uric acid in the blood can cause pain in the muscles, which does not subside unless the uric acid is brought under control. Thad a similar problem, my legs continued to pain even after exercising regularly for six months. I consulted an orthopedic surgeon who detected my blood uric acid problem. After taking the prescribed medicines for fifteen days the problem disappeared permanently. Now try and make your exercising more strenuous by adding some other exercises to it, as it will help your cells to use solar energy more effectively. The more you sweat it out during exercising the more effectively your cells will use the solar energy and get recharged and you will get closer to getting rid of your diabetes. After three months of sungazing and exercising you will find the difference. Your cells will get revitalized; you will feel more energetic than before. You will find that you are getting lesser and lesser tired during exercising and the breathing remains normal during exercising; you will also find that you are not gasping for breath any more and your heartbeats too are not shooting up during exercising like before. There will be improve- ment in the production of insulin by the beta cells in the pancreas resulting in better control on blood sugar levels. Controlling diabetes with solar energy 119 Safety of eyes during sungazing Many people will worry about the safety of their eyes during sungazing because we have many misconceptions about sun. and the sunlight. Though it is said that the sun’s ultraviolet rays can cause damage to our eyes, I wonder if anybody has come across a person who has lost or damaged his cyes because of sunlight. I have been doing sungazing for the last two years and many times I do it beyond the safe time of within and before two hours of sunrise and sunset respectively because I like to look at the brighter sun as it energizes you faster. However I have not had any problems with my eyes yet, at least the eye specialist did not detect any defects in my eyes. I get my eyes checked every six months. If the sunrays were so much harmful to eyes I should have lost my vision by now. In fact our eyes are capable enough to take their own care. The eyes close instantly the moment they sense any danger for themselves. If you bring your own hand rapidly towards your eyes, the eyelids would close within a fraction of a second. If a powerful light is flashed upon the eyes, they close immediately, then haw can eyes remain wide open against the bright sunlight? That is because they do not find any hazard in it for themselves. ‘Do not force your eyes to remain open while doing sungazing. Let your eyes decide the time duration of sungazing, they will start closing the moment sufficient light is transferred inside the body. When your eyes try to shut, stop sungazing immediately and start exercising. If this much care is taken I do not think you have to worry about the sunlight causing damage to your eyes. A diabetic patient may not lose his eyesight by doing sungazing but will surely lose it if his diabetes remains uncontrolled. Secondly, like medicines, which you have to take the rest of your life for controlling diabetes, you need not do sungazing forever. Once you are able to control the blood sugar levels without medicines, just exercising in the sunlight for an hour everyday is more than enough to control the blood sugar levels without medicines and any strict diet. If you wish, you can continue sungazing till you get rid of your diabetes and then continue exercising in the sunlight to prevent diabetes from re-entering your 120 Get rid of diabetes with solar energy body. However, in case of any doubt about your eyes getting affected due to sungazing, you can always consult your cye specialist. I got rid of my diabetes after eight months of sungazing and now Iam able to control my blood sugar levels without sungazing and exercising. However I continue to do sungazing every day and will be doing it in future also because I feel if sunlight at all causes any damage to eyes, I should be the first one to suffer the consequences of sungazing. It is high time now that we all do away with all the fears about the sun from our mind and use this vast source of energy not only to energize our lives but also to get rid of all the ailments. 1am sure that you all will trust me and do sungazing without keeping any fears in your mind and get rid of your diabetes. I sincerely request you all to write to me about your experience with sungazing and the benefits you received from it. It will help us in establishing the fact that sunlight is not harmful for human beings but an aid for all-round health. The sunlight and solar medicines are the ultimate solution for all our ailments.
