In a world so technologically advanced and filled with endless opportunities, us humans
live in an urban environment which provides a limitless amount of career options. Career
options such as being a cashier, a waiter/waitress, an office clerk or even an electrician are
examples of the kind of job one can attain to earn a living. That being said, many people are
extremely fussy or choosy about the job they will have or even the amount of income which
will be earned. Fortunately for me, I am not the average joe mainly because I have set my
goals ahead of me by leaning my interests towards being an entrepreneur. Some people
may call me delusional for aspiring to be an entrepreneur in this day and age filled with
challenges and decision making but this is mainly due to the myth that entrepreneurs cannot
survive in the urban jungle due to both competitive and restrictive factors.

There are multiple reasons as to why I aspire to be an entrepreneur. Firstly, I myself am a

person who doesnt like to be chained to the confinements of a workplace for close to 8
hours. Being an entrepreneur allows me to have a flexible lifestyle while a corporate job
wouldnt. This allows me to have more time to spend with family and friends as a world
without them would mean nothing to me.

Furthermore, there is the aspect of opportunity. This is what sets being a manager and
entrepreneur apart. An entrepreneur gets to choose the various aspects of his/her work or
even start their own company while being a manager only confines you the limits of
managing clients in a company. A manager usually only manages his/her clients and this
gives me the impression of a boring lifestyle. I want to be able to make my own choices and
this sets my choice straight to become an entrepreneur.

In addition to that, entrepreneurship requires a high a level of ingenuity and creativity. I

feel like I possess these traits and because of this, I know that I can come up with ingenious
ideas that can affect the world in a positive way. For example, the famous Wright brothers
were intent on making the worlds first airplane and succeeded despite others deeming their
idea insane. Even the likes of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates had ideas that others deemed
crazy.

Lastly, the earning potential of an entrepreneur is entirely set by the entrepreneur

him/herself and him/herself only. As an employee, your income is capped by the company
you work at and can only go so far to earn a living regardless of how long youve worked or
how much you have provided to said company. An entrepreneur on the other hand has the
freedom to build a profitable business and reap the profits of his/her business. Long story
short, an entrepreneur is his/her own boss.

In a couple of more years from now, I presume I will be pursuing a career in business
and for that I will possess a few skills that would impact my future career. Firstly, I am an
honest person. If I am an honest and trustable person, my future employees, clients or even
bosses will picture me as a reliable person to work with. Because of this, I will receive more
business opportunities since I am a person who is to be trusted with making deals or setting
up a new business. Additionally, this will even give my name a boost in the business and
marketing world. I also happen to be a person who follows ethics and abides to the rules of
business. Because of this, I wont be involved in quarrels with other employees and will
maintain a respectable image in the working line.
