If I had to give anyone in the Hot Zone a Nobel Peace Prize it would be Peter Jahrling.

Jahrling was a microbiologist who was commissioned to do a very hard and difficult task. He
had to take samples from monkeys that were infected with some kind of virus and identify if it
was Marburg or a type of Ebola. The test was not easy because it was delicate, and took hours
to complete (Preston 215). When he was complete with the test he found that it was the most
deadly virus of them all, Ebola Zaire. If Jahrling didn't do the test and identify the virus command
would not have known how to handle the situation. The situation could have turned into a
national emergency with many casualties (Preston 223). Luckily Jahrling was there to help and
he may have saved many lives from that horrible disease making him worthy of a Nobel Peace
Prize.
