As a MetWest scholar, I feel nearly prepared for Senior Institute. Since freshman year, I

have gained the ability to speak my mind/ share my opinions in front of peers and also strangers.

MetWest has prepared me to face the challenges/ upcoming responsibilities in the real world. I

have received opportunities that the average person my age has never experienced. A few skills I

have gained so far is communication, collaboration, participation, patience, and professionalism.

I feel as if I have improved upon these skills since middle school. A few experiences I want to

have so I will be better prepared for my future career is to have a good/decent rotation at

CHAMPS. I would be very fortunate if I got to experience being in a room with a patient

because its what Id like to do in the future. Being in CHAMPS will definitely prepare me for

my future career (goal).

My Gateway Goals have completely given me a headstart on Senior Institute as well. My

gateway goal, creating a page to support natural beauty, reflects on resistant capital. Resistant

capital will give me a mindset that addresses a situation or defends a certain targeted oppressed

group. My other goal to apply successfully to CHAMPS would help me with applying to jobs in

the future, regarding my career goal. My last goal, which was to attend study hall after school

doesnt really apply to helping me prepare for Senior Institute/ the future. I would say it would

motivate me to practice something until I get a better understanding of it.

Overall, I am absolutely sure I will be prepared for Senior Institute around junior year. I

am excited to experience many more things that are in my path to Senior Institute. My next goal

is to be able to have the abilities of a MetWest scholar before graduation. Achieving the goals I

set in the past has helped prepared me to understand what is coming up.
