Hi Ben,

I apologize for the delay but got very busy over the weekend. Here are my answers and let me

know if you want me to go into more detail as I was trying to keep my answers short and to the

point.

1. Positive effects for military:

To conduct surveillance and engage an enemy without placing pilots and other military personnel

in harms way.

Positive for recreation:

Promotes creativity and is challenging as people build drones and engage in entertaining

competition.

2. Negative effects for military:

For the drones to fall into the hands of our enemies who can obtain valuable information through

pirating our technology.

Negative effects for recreation:

That some will use drones to violate the public's privacy. Another would be to interfere with

protected air space such as airports, rescue aircraft , etc.

3. Commercial drones have a more positive effect because they can be used in various businesses

and industries to include farming and agriculture. It would result in cost savings as compared to

conventional aircraft. An example would be insurance companies using drones to survey damage

from fire, flood, natural disasters, fight wild fires etc.

4. Drones currently affect peoples lives by them being used to protect our military personnel and

our country. I think drones are in their infancy and we will see more use of them in the future.

Such as Amazon using drones to deliver packages.

5. I see drones having a greater impact on peoples lives both positive and negative. I foresee

terrorist threats both domestic and abroad as well as being used for various criminal activities.

6. I think a version of military drones will be used in law enforcement such as for surveillance

during civil unrest, riots, hostage situations, locating drug grows etc.

7. Military drones should be used law enforcement as a last resort and in extreme situations such

as when the National Guard is called in by local and state governments when situations become

too large for local law enforcement.

8. Yes, to protect commercial aircraft and public safety and privacy.

9. It will be a challenging task to enforce stricter drone laws. It will take local, state, and federal

cooperation to enforce laws as they are enacted.

10. Yes, if used and regulated properly.

11. No, not at this time.

Please let me know if you need anything else. We can plan a short meeting sometime . Have a

great day !!
