To Whom It May Concern:
It is my sincere pleasure to write this letter recommending Katherine Stauch for any
future elementary school teaching positions. Ms. Stauch recently participated in the
Virginia Teachers For Tomorrow teacher preparation program. As part of this
program, I have had the extreme pleasure of having Ms. Stauch work with me and
my first graders for the past two months.
Within the professional development school context, Ms. Stauch had the opportunity
to work closely with me, school faculty, and other interns to explore issues of
teaching and learning and to put these educational theories into practice. Ms.
Stauch has planned, implemented, and revised lessons and has a fantastic report
with the students. They light up and get very excited when she walks by our
windows on her days in the class.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Stauch for the past 10 years, as she once
was one of my first grade students. She has always been excited about coming
back into the classroom to read to and with my students, help with educational
activity prep, and offer assistance with students needing small group or one on one
work. It is no shock that she has picked education as a lifelong ambition. She is a
bright, personable, energetic, and mature young lady with a well-rooted interest in
teaching.
In short, Ms. Stauch is an excellent beginning teacher. Not only is she able to plan
instruction that is engaging and developmentally appropriate but she manages the
classroom routine and behavior. She is thoughtful, reflective, and committed to
life-long learning and continued development as an educator.
In the context that I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Stauch, she has
demonstrated her thoughtfulness, leadership, risk taking, and genuine compassion
for children and their development. After evaluating her work, observing her in
class, and supervising her teaching, I feel confident she will make a wonderful
elementary educator. I give her my highest recommendation for teaching positions.

Sincerely yours,
Karen Callis
