Lesson Title: Whats the average

Grade Level: 3rd

Subject: Math

Curriculum Goal: Understand how to graph data on a spread sheet.

Learning Objectives: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.MD.B.4

Generate measurement data by measuring lengths using rulers marked with halves and
fourths of an inch. Show the data by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is
marked off in appropriate units whole numbers, halves, or quarters.

Equipment Needed/Materials:

Broken popsicle sticks

Excel

ruler

Lesson Summary:

The students will be given a handful of randomly broken Popsicle sticks. They are to
measure the length of each Popsicle stick and chart it on the excel sheet. Lastly, they are to
use the function method and the equation method to show how to get the average length of
all the sticks.

Integration of Technology:

The students will be using the excel program and show their skills of creating and equation
and how to perform the function of the average of set data.

Lesson Title: Research

Grade Level: 6th

Subject: History

Curriculum Goal: Students will be able to make a power point based off of research done
for their favorite historical figure.
Learning Objectives: WHST.6-8.7 Conduct short research projects to answer a question
drawing on serval sources and generating additional related focused questions that allow for
multiple avenues of exploration.

Equipment Needed/Materials: Internet, power point program, library, and other


resources they can find information from.

Lesson Summary: Children will create a powerpoint based on an inspirational historical


figure with 5 slides and 2 images. They need to have one hyperlink linked to an article about
the figure. They will need 2 transitions as well.

Integration of Technology: Students will be practicing the skills of adding images with
transitions and links and so forth.

Lesson Title: Tell me a story

Grade Level: 1 st.

Subject: Writing

Curriculum Goal: Writing Narratives in which they recount two or more


appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened,
used temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure.

Learning Objectives: Students will be able to write a narrative story with three
temporal words to signal event order.

Equipment Needed/Materials:

Computer

Microsoft Word Program

Lesson Summary: Students will write any story on the computer using Microsoft
Word Programing. The short story will need to have three temporal words to signal
event order such as first, then, last. Once they have their story completed and
checked by the teacher, they will be going to an elderly home to read their stories
to the elderly people.

Integration of Technology: They will be using Microsoft Word Processing to help


them learn how to type and print a paper. This is effective because they will need
typing and printing skills for the rest of their lives.
