Yiannis comes from a small town of Nothern Greece, Drama.

His first guitar lessons were when he was eight by in the local music school and
he continued in the Music High School, where many different styles were
influential for his musical personality.

He studied guitar and advanced theoritics, finishing with the highest grades
from the University of Macedonia-Department of Music Science and Arts,
State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels and
Academia Chigiana of Siena under the teachers Elena Papandreou, Thanos
Mitsalas, Antigoni Goni and Oscar Ghiglia.

In Belgium he turned his interest also to the Early Music studying the
renaissance lute with Dirk De Hertogh and now continuing in the
Conservatorie Royal de Bruxelles under the guidance of Nicolas Achten.

He gave many concerts in major halls of Greece, Italy, Holland, Belgium and
he has appeared as a soloist in the Megaron Concert Hall of Thessaloniki.

In 2014 he started in the Phd program of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and
research topic The guitar represented by the Spanish Generation 1927.
