This quarters facing history topic was on derogatory terms said about homosexuals. The
topic of slurs directed towards the LGBT community had been brought to light because there
has been countless incidents of students around BACS saying words like faggot and using
gay as an adjective to describe something stupid. Blackstone is a school with students and
faculty with different sexual orientations so for people to use such hurtful language really need
to be addressed. The facing history class did a wonderful job coordinating this session and I do
believe they go some students. Since then, I have heard less of this language being used in the
hallways and during lunch. I think the signed pledge hanging in front of the double doors was a
good decision. It almost acts as a constant reminder that we should not use derogatory terms
