correctterm.Allthreehavebeennamedwhichmakesthemspecialinsomeway,howeverthemainreason
thatweregoingtolookattwooftheminthissectionisthattheyaretheonlytypesofseriesthatwellbe
lookingatforwhichwewillbeabletogetactualvaluesfortheseries.Thethirdtypeisdivergentandso
wonthaveavaluetoworryabout.
Ingeneral,determiningthevalueofaseriesisverydifficultandoutsideofthesetwokindsofseriesthat
welllookatinthissectionwewillnotbedeterminingthevalueofseriesinthischapter.

GeometricSeries
Ageometricseriesisanyseriesthatcanbewrittenintheform,
or,withanindexshiftthegeometricserieswilloftenbewrittenas,
