foreveratthesamerate.Thegrowthrateofapopulationneedstodependonthepopulationitself.Oncea
populationreachesacertainpointthegrowthratewillstartreduce,oftendrastically.Amuchmorerealistic
modelofapopulationgrowthisgivenbythelogisticgrowthequation.Hereisthelogisticgrowthequation.


Inthelogisticgrowthequationristheintrinsicgrowthrateandisthesamerasinthelastsection.Inother
words,itisthegrowthratethatwilloccurintheabsenceofanylimitingfactors.Kiscalledeither
thesaturationlevelorthecarryingcapacity.
