It always will depend on your scene. But basically if you can fun the host appli
cation V-Ray will render it.

You can compose it correctly using the V-Ray Atmosphere RE

How will V-Ray beat all other unbiased GPU renders like Fstorm?
V-Ray GPU has many advantages. One of the biggest ones is our unique set of feat
ures - both in terms of shading and in terms of exclusive raytracing one (like c
lipper, triplanar, etc), Stochastic BRDFs, GGX, etc. And of course - we have the
GPU designed unbiased algorithm for lighting, named "adaptive lights", that pro
vides unprecedented speed. We have also dedicated support team, which will help
you in a day or two always when you have some issue. V-Ray is also a industry st
andard and production proven tool.

You don t need to clamp anything. Use the standard settings and you can compose yo
ur image

With the glossy Fresnel, it will be more accurate. It will give you more realist
ic results. But for artistic purposes you can turn it off.

Yes, this is possible, but this is not the optimized way to render.

For the V-Ray RT you can. By using progressive the best will be to control the r
endering quality using the noise threshold for the whole sequence.

We have education licenses for that. You should just be a student.
What sort of computer will be used in our webinar for the demonstration of Vray

I cannot tell you which graphic card will fit your needs. We give toy the softwa
re and you need to find the best hardware for you. But if I have to say somethin
g - choose between high-end gaming cards or the professional GPUs.

We already support it.
How do i keep all the small details visible when using the sss shader?
Try adding it in to a Bump material at the end and see if this works for you

Are VR scans going to be supported with GPU? What's the road map for GPU feature
support?
Yes, this is on our to do list. Unfortunately, I cannot tell when we will be rea
dy with it.

Same method
With the rise of USB-C with external GPU setups. Will we see any changes for dis
tributed rendering using these GPUs?
If the OC can see it, it should work just fine. For DR if you have many GPUs in
the render nodes the network could became a bottleneck at some point. But we can
control how much the network to be loaded trough the ray per pixel and the bun

Yes, we did. (If you have tested the beta before) You should test it out.
how to create a leaf with alpha and a little thickness for edge of that leaf! or
how to use vray normal map for thickness leaf
Use custom paint normal or bump map for objects which are not close to the camer
a. If the object is close to the camera better use a displacement.

You can override the GI, Reflections and Refractions in the Env. render settings
and use not the dome light but the sun system for direct lighting for faster re
sults

Yes.

Try the new V-Ray IPR. I think this is what you want ;)
Vray GPU will faster than Octane?
Better try it for yourself. We find that the V-Ray GPU is great and we pretty co
nfident it is the fastest render engine for most of the use cases.

We have the V-Ray Light Select render element.

We don't try to differentiate - what do we actually try is to make a great rende
r engine. With that being said, we have quite unique set of features - both in t

You should wait for the upcoming release of V-Ray for Sketch Up. V-Ray shares th
e same App SDK as in 3ds Max.

It depends on your scene. If you have some difficulties setting the glass you ca
n write to our dedicated 3d support. They are going to help with some tips

Yes, we have new alSurface material and we support now MDLs. We have Live VR ren
dering and new V-Ray IPR rendering.
How do you see future of rendering? What is the goal for next 5 years. Thanks
In our industry 5 years is a too long period for plans. Everything changes so qu
ickly. We are and we will continue to develop features and make improvements to
our software based on the feedback our users give us. So you guys have everythin
g you need to create your beautiful renders.
When to expect update for V-Ray for Rhino? =)
We are in final testing of the product. So, you can expect V-Ray 3 for Rhino ver
y soon.

Yes, we are already adding tutorials in our YouTube channel.
I've seen people with 5x GTX Titans spending 20 mins per frame in Vray RT. Are t
hey doing something wrong? Why is it so slow?
I cannot tell if and what they are doing wrong, because I need to see the scene
first. It always depends on the rendered scene. V-Ray GPU itself renders very qu
ickly.

Yes. But this won t be so optimized for rendering.
