Since home computers appeared in our lives everything seems to be easier,
at least in some fields, my work was always related to IT, but with the
advance of computer technologies this work seems to be more easy. In the
past to fix a computer, hardware or software, one needed to be physically in
front of the computer, today thats not needed anymore, even for some
hardware issues one can remotely replace the failed part, or disable it as
needed. For people that is not in an IT work, for example a lawyer, where
writing, reading, receiving documents is a daily basis, the computer had
improved this, they dont need to start all over if there is a typo on their
documents, they can check it before printing it, sending and receiving
documents it is a lot faster than using normal mail, by e-email.
Today there is new ways of entertainment thanks to the computer, even new
sports called e-sports, in the way of videogames, which is not limited only to
game consoles connected to a TV. They are present in almost every home
computer, and even operating systems have videogames already pre-
installed. The new ways of entertainment are not only videogames, but also
cinema industry has started to change, thanks to the computer and
therefore to internet. Platforms like Netflix or the new Amazon TV service,
creating original contents exclusive for these platforms is an excellent
example of how the ways of entertainment have changed thanks to the
computer. This does not mean that the old ways of entertainment are lost,
one still can go outside and drink something with friends, but they can now
set a time and place where to meet faster with all of them through the
computer.
Regarding the last sentence, thats another way to show how the computer,
not changed, but added a new form to our relationships. In a situation where
someone close to us had to go, for example, to work to a distant place the
computer and also the internet had made possible that communicate with
that person can be done instantly, using a computer and a webcam we can
also see the person, not only hear her.
And with this also comes our new studys way. No longer we have to spent
hours searching in 2 or 3 encyclopedias that we have at home, we the
computer and also with the internet we have a worldwide encyclopedia in
our hand, again we spent hours searching what we need, but the sources
are almost unlimited.
Some of the things I started thanks to computer is discover new things, new
technologies, like books, movies, poetry that I couldnt reach before, but
thanks to the computer I could now.
