Religion I

(Theme): Soldiers who are killed in combat or suffer during war or conflict.
Reading: Psalms 144 1-2 (New American Bible Revised Edition ) Blessed be the LORD, my
rock,
who trains my hands for battle,
my fingers for war;
My safeguard and my fortress,
my stronghold, my deliverer,
My shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples under me.
Reflection: 1.1 Million Soldiers have died in all the United States wars. Every single day over
thousands and hundreds of soldiers die and are suffering during combat or from a deadly war.
Many of these soldiers suffer each day and we do not even bother to think about it. God reaches
down onto the families of these soldiers and gives them comfort.
He leads the families to still waters and tells them Do not be afraid I am with you. I have loved
you and you are mine. It is our duty to help contribute to the cause of supporting these soldiers
by praying. God has given us the power to pray our blessings of love onto these people. God will
make miracles work through our prayers.
Prayer:
Lord we come to you proclaiming that you are all powerful and all loving. You are our tower of
strength you come to us when we are in desperate need for you.
We come to you with thankful hearts for all of the blessing you have given us and our country.
Father we are reminded that our soldiers fight many personal and physical battles and we ask you
today you would intervene in their lives and help each one individually.
Lord, we know that there are times when each one suffers from homesickness, loneliness,
extreme fear, and personal physical conditions. We ask that you watch over them and bless them.
We ask that you come to each one and ease their pain and suffering. Give them the strength they
need to fight and not to give up hope. For when they are in a feeling of weakness then they are
strong.
Amen
