Title: Digital visual inter-departmental studies

Abstract

This announcement will exhibit the results of the first interdisciplinary workshop with the title
Limnophobia which aim the creation of a multiform digital material via the investigation, the
recording and the studying of the historical, morphological and social features of the space
concerning the thematic of the fear in the way its expressed in a set of different forms, concerning
the relation with the environment and the participants. The first meeting-workshop took place in the
artistic facilities of the department of Applied and Visual Arts of the University of Western
Macedonia, in the Psarades near the lake Prespes in collaboration with the departments of
Audiovisual Arts of Ionian University and Graphical Arts of the Technological Educational Institute
of Athens. Emphasis had been given in the methods of inclusion of the basic principles of
cinematic art in the visual arts and especially in the video art. The principal influence of this
workshop was Alexander Astruct and his approach in the esthetics in his manifesto "Du Stylo la
camra et de la camra au stylo".
The educational methodology included:
-the observation, the investigation and the inclusion of the special characteristics of the place, as
beginning and frame of reception of the artistic and the educational procedure,
-the designation of the use of different means such as the text, the photography, the video, the
sound and the physical performances,
-the theoretical analysis and approach in different cinematic styles, the creation and the studying of
the characters,
-the creation and the design of the implementation of different scripts and the presentation of visual
practices and digital techniques.
Finally an emphasis had also been given in the quality and the originality of the attribution of the
issue in both a collective an individual level in relation with the theme.
