Drone based automatic delivery system

ABSTRACT
With the rapid increase in the use of e-commerce for almost all
applications, demand for faster delivery solutions has increased
rapidly in the past. However, with current delivery options available,
there is a limit to the speed and ease at which the commodities can be
delivered. Hence, use of Unmanned Air Vehicles (or sometimes
referred to as "Drones") has been proved very effective. Keeping
aside a few drawbacks, Drones are better than the conventional
delivery options in terms of speed, accessible locations, man power
and cost.

The goal of this project is to build a quadcopter in such a way that it

can be controlled both manually and automatically. Although the
quadcopter can be controlled manually, the main focus of the project
is to make it capable of automatically finding its way to the
destination through the GPS coordinates of the source and destination
locations. The essential components involves the quadcopter frame,
brushless DC motors, a ARM Cortex M4 series based controller, a
GPS(with tracker) and sensors for obstacle detection. The board
(controller) is programmed such that upon receiving the coordinates
of the destination, it travels towards the destination based on an
algorithm. The algorithm monitors the current location and total
displacement from the destination and produces a output that govern
the direction of the movement of the next step.

Apart from the delivery options the drone is capable of performing all
the conventional uses like surveying, use in traffic monitoring, media
applications, wildlife security (surveillance) and many more.
