A) Theme: Remembering the Atrocities of the Holocaust

B) Reading: Matthew 24: 11-13 11 Many false prophets will arise and deceive many: 12 and

because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who

perseveres to the end will be saved.

C) Reflection:

From 1933-1945 the people of the Jewish faith were facing one of their darkest

times. A man named Adolf Hitler took over the nation of Germany believing that

he was destined to destroy the Jewish faith. Hitler acted as he was the savior of

Germany and leaded its people to believing the Jews must be erased from society.

He persecuted them, stole their rights, experimented on them, forced them to

work hard labor, and executed them. Events like this have happened in the past to

different religious groups. For example, the Israelites and the Egyptians or the

Christians and Romans. The Jews were forced to endure Hitlers atrocities for

twelve years as he began spreading his message and empire across the world.

Soon many nations united against Hitler and managed to save the survivors of the

Holocaust. There were many Jews who were strong enough to survive Hitlers

reign, but six million of them who could not survive him.
D) Prayer:

Lord please make us stronger,

Let us be strong to combat those who act against your word,

Please dont allow us to fall to those tempted by the devil,

Teach us to be stronger with your word and show us the way to your kingdom.

Lord help us to follow in the footsteps of your son Jesus Christ,

Show us all the way to live in his image and make your world into the peaceful

society you created it as,

O God please guide us to loving each other and not hating each other.
