Storms, Assistant Principal February 6, 2017 Dear Fellow Educator: It is my pleasure to recommend Ms. Ashley Carroll for an elementary teaching position. I have worked with Ms. Carroll for the past three years at Guardian Angels, During our time together, I have observed her to be extremely thorough, loving and organized, which is a must for any elementary classroom teacher. Not only does Ms. Carroll provide excellent classroom management and creative lessons, but she also works well with fellow teachers. I have served with Ms. Carroll on our Professional Leaning Community (PLC) Math Vertical Team. With Ms, Carroll’s collaboration, our PLC team was able to implement a new fact fluency program in grades kindergarten through third grade. We have seen immediate, positive results from this program and I am confident that our end of year math scores will show improvement. Ms. Carroll came to every meeting prepared, offered valuable insights on our school’s math curriculum, and provided specific strategies to improve math instruction. Novice and experienced teachers alike benefited from her suggestions. Thave also worked with Ms. Carroll on establishing the Sunshine Committee at our school. This committee aims to improve teacher morale by teachers doing kind things for one another. Ms. Carroll was integral in establishing this committee and serves as the committee head, She calls a monthly meeting for members to plan events for Guardian Angels staff members. This year she has led the committee in providing monthly “mailbox treats” and a Christmas cookie exchange, among several other events. This committee has received many compliments from the staff of Guardian Angels and is highly regarded by all who work here. Rest assured that when hiring Ms, Carroll you are receiving a true gem! Although I am. excited over new opportunities for Ms. Carroll, I will be very sorry to see her leave Guardian Angels. Teaching is not a job for her; itis an innate part of who she is.
