Media Pitch

March 4, 2016

To whom it may concern:

The Solid Foundation is expanding and is gearing up for a land grant from a generous
donor from the Nacogdoches community. One of the conditions of the donor is that Solid
Foundation produce capital and other resources to show that the Solid Foundation drive
to be a strong academic haven for students in the Nacogdoches community.

Low education attainment continues to be highly correlated to poverty: the higher the
level of education the lower the level of poverty. Overall, in Nacogdoches County, 24.8%
of the total population lives below the poverty level. In Nacogdoches County, 32 percent
of the people have less than a high school education which correlates to the high rate of
poverty. 65% of students enrolled at NISD are classified by The Texas Education Agency
as at-risk and economically disadvantaged.

With the help of the media shedding light on the Solid Foundation not only will it help
the organization to get the exposure it needs but also help the community be aware of the
statics they live in, and also help them to see that there are resources there to help change
those same statics.
