TASK 2 TRIANGLE CONGRUENCE

You will be creating 4 college mini-pennants for 4 different colleges of your choice. The picture above shows a
typical college pennant. In order to submit your pennants, they each must fit the following criteria:
1. Each pennant must include a different name and mascot from a college of your choice.
2. Each pennant must be completely colored.
3. Each pennant must be cut out with a inch border on the outside of your constructed triangle.
4. Each pennant must contain one fact about the college that your choose.
a. You must write your fact inside the inch border
5. Each pennant must include the dimensions of every side and every angle that were used to create it.

Your first pennant must be constructed from a triangle with a side-angle-side relationship:
7 inches - 49 - 6 inches

Your second pennant must be constructed from a triangle with an angle-side-angle relationship:
49 - 6 inches - 75

Your third pennant must be constructed from a triangle with an angle-angle-side relationship:
56 - 75 - 6 inches

Your fourth pennant must be constructed from a triangle with a side-side-side relationship:
7 inches - 6 inches - 5.5 inches

Questions for after you have finished

1. Why was it not possible to include a 5th congruent pennant that was constructed with the same
dimensions by HL?

2. What would happen if we included another pennant that had an angle-angle-angle relationship of
56 - 75 - 49?

3. Try and construct one last pennant with an angle-side-side relationship of 56 - 7 inches - 6 inches.
Using academic vocabulary, explain why this does not work?
