Keep the ball on finger pads, not on the palm of the hand. 2. Keep your head up to see the floor. Never look at the ball. 3. Keep the ball at waist level or lower. 4, Knees should be bent with your back straight. Marquette Dribble Mov: ‘Two Ball Dribbling 1, One ball in each hand dribbled full court up and back simultaneously. 2. One ball in each hand dribbled fall court up and back alternating cribbles. 3. This emphasizes you becoming as good with your weak hand as you are with your strong hand. Speed Dribble 1. Thé ball should be pushed out in front of you while moving at top speed. 2. Keep your eyes on the net so you will see the whole floors. Hesitation 1. The dribbler approaches the defender and hesitates slightly. 2. As the defender relaxes, blow by him and make your play. Hard Stutter 1, The dribbler approaches the defender and slows with short choppy steps. 2. The goal is to either back the defender up or make him stand up. 3. Ifhe stands vp, then blow by him. If he backs up, then shoot the jumper. Behind the Back 1. The key to this dribble is that you change direction. Do not drive in a straight line. 2. The angle is best when you change direction and go from third base to first base. Inside-Out 1. The dribbler approaches the defender and brings the ball toward the middle of his body as if he were crossing over to the other hand. 2. As the defender leans, keep the ball in the same hand and blow by the defender. Inside-Out Crossover 1, The dribbler begins by using the inside-out move as above. 2. As the defender reacts to take the bal] away, cross the ball over to the other hand and blow by the defender. Pick up the ball and come out of your tucked position in one motion as you begin your jump shot thus controlling your forward mation, Format’ Start at the baseline on the left hand side of the court and speed cribble to half court. Use your stutter dribble as you cross half court and then speed dribble again to the top of the key extended. Give yourself 3 points for a made basket and Q points for a miss. Wherever you rebound your shot (made or miss), square up and shoot a jump shot. Give yourself 2 points for a made basket and Q points for a miss. For your third shot shoot a lay-up on which ever side of the basket you are on. Example: if on left hand side shoot a leit handed lay-up; if on right hand side shoot a right handed lay-up. Give yourself 1 point for a made basket and 0 points ~ for a miss. Continue this format and scoring progression trom spots 2-14, at spot 15, shoot a free throw. Perfect Score = 85 points Note: the most points you can score from any one spot is 6, which means you would make all 3 shots you took from that spot. You are allowed only 1 shot from each Goal: Each time you play try to better your score from the day before. B. 3 out of 5 Challenge Rules of the Game: 1. "BEAT THE PRO" Rules of the Game: 1. Shoot from a designated spot on the floor. 2. If shot is made, the shooter gets 1 point. If 2 shot is missed the "pro" gets 2 points. 3. Start to cut away from the ball and then V-cut hard to the ball and catch the ball off the first bounce and shoot a jump shot. 2 Shoot 25 random jump shots anywhere from 15'-21" on the court. However, they all must come off the V-cut! 3 Second set of 25 random shots should be preceded by a shot fake and 1 or 2 dribbles. Goal: 7 magnificent dunks in 30 seconds D. BLOCK DRILLS 1. Caten and Go Drive Starting at the block with your back to the baseline roll the bal to the ‘opposite elbow. Folow the ball and pick it up with @ two foot jump ‘top. Pivot towards the basket and drive completing the play with a two foot power lay-up. Rebound the ball and sprint to opposite block and repeat the performance to the opposite elbow. Shoot 6 power lay-ups (to each sca). 2. Catch; Shot Fake & Go ‘Same procedure as 1, but when you pick up the ball gjve a shot fake (chow the elbow); put the bal on the floor ano dribble and shoot a short jump shot. Shoot & shots (4 to each side) E, PUTBACKS Facing the besket shoot the bell off the rim so the ball rebounds off Rebound the ball at the top of your jump, got your balance and put the offensive rebound back in.
