Exercise 2.1 Creating Oracle Tablespaces and Users


In this exercise, you run the create_db_users.sql script to create Oracle tablespaces and
users in HypDB.
In SQL Developer, connect to the hyperion instance of the Oracle database. Open the
create_db_users.sql script from Cf on hypapp (H:). On your keyboard, press F5 to run the
script.
When the status bar displays the Script Finished message, close SQL Developer.

Exercise 3.1 Installing Shared Services and Workspace


In this exercise, you install Shared Services and Workspace on the HypDB machine.
On the HypDB desktop, open the CF\Install folder. Double-click InstallTool.cmd.
On the Welcome panel, verify that your system meets the installer requirements, and
click Next. On the Destination panel, accept the default for Hyperion Home, and click
Next. On the Installation Type panel, select New Installation > Choose components individually,
and click Next.
On the Product Selection panel, deselect all options except Foundation and the following
components and click Next.
Shared Services
Workspace
On the Confirmation panel, review the components to be installed, and click Next. On the
Summary panel, click Finish to close the installer.

Exercise 6.1 Installing AFPL Ghostscript 8.5.1


In this exercise you install a PDF generator on the HypBI server.
On the HypBI desktop, open the CF\Third-Party folder. Double-click gs851w32.exe to start
the Ghostscript installer.
Click Setup. Accept the defaults and click Install.
When the installation completes, the Ghostscript shortcut folder is displayed. Close the
Ghostscript shortcut folder.

Exercise 7.1 Running EPM System Configurator for Shared


Services
In this exercise, you use EPM System Configurator to configure Shared Services on the
HypDB server.
On the HypDB server, select Start > Programs > Oracle EPM System > Foundation Services >
EPM System Configurator.
When selecting tasks, ensure that you deselect Workspace and configure common settings
and Shared Services.
On the Configure database panel, select Perform 1st-time configuration of Shared Services
database and enter the following property values:.

Exercise 7.2 Starting Shared Services


In this exercise, you configure services to start manually.
Start Windows Services and locate the following services:
Hyperion Foundation Shared Services - Web Application
Hyperion Foundation OpenLDAP
Verify that both services have started and then set them to start Manually.

Exercise 7.3 Configuring User Directories


In this exercise, you configure Shared Services for Microsoft Active Directory.
On the HypDB server, select Start > Programs > Oracle EPM System > Foundation Services >
Shared Services Console. Log on with user name admin and password password.
In the Application Management pane, expand Shared Services:localhost:28080. Right-click
User Directories and select Configure User Directory.

In the Search Filter box, type cn=System Administrator and click Auto Configure. Accept the
default values, and click Finish.
Click OK and Verify that the MSAD directory search order is set to 2. Click OK.
Select File > Logoff and click Yes to log off of Shared Services console. Close your browser
windows.

Exercise 7.4 Synchronizing Shared Services with MSAD


Start Windows Services and locate the following services:
Hyperion Foundation Shared Services - Web Application
Hyperion Foundation OpenLDAP
Restart the Hyperion Foundation OpenLDAP service. When prompted to restart Hyperion
Foundation Shared Services - Web Application, click Yes. Close the Services window.
Login to the Shared Services console with the user name admin and the password
password.
In the Provisioning pane, select User Directories > MSAD > Users. Click Search. A list of
Active Directory users is displayed.

Exercise 7.6 Creating an Application Management Group


In this exercise, you create the Planning application management group in Shared
Services.
Start Shared Services Console and log on as plnadmin with hyperion as the password.
In the Application Management pane, expand Shared Services:localhost:28080. Right-click
Application Groups, and click New.
1. Enter Planning as the name and Planning Applications as the description. Click Finish
and click OK.
In the Application Management pane, expand Application Groups.
Select File > Exit, and click Yes.

Exercise 8.1 Running the EPM System Configurator for Common


Settings and Essbase Services
In this exercise, you use EPM System Configurator to configure common product
settings on the HypBI server.
On the HypBI server, select Start > Programs > Oracle EPM System > Foundation Services >
EPM System Configurator. Configure the following components first:
Hyperion Foundation - Common Settings
Hyperion Foundation - Configure Database
For Shared Services, connect to a previously configured database using the following
settings:

In this exercise, you configure services to start manually.
Start Windows Services using the shortcut on the Quick Launch bar. Scroll down to

Hyperion Provider Services - Web Application
Set the services to start manually and then close the Services window.

On the Map Users to External Providers page, select admin and click Apply. Click Next. On
the Externalize Users/Groups page, verify that Users is selected and click Start.
Review the status message to verify that user admin was migrated successfully. Click
Finish. Click Close. When prompted to save changes, click OK twice. Click Close. Exit from
Administration Services.

Exercise 8.4 Provisioning Users for Essbase


In this exercise, you provision the plnadmin account with Essbase administrator roles in
Shared Services.
Start the Shared Services Console and logon as plnadmin with hyperion as the password.
NOTE
You can access Shared Services Console from HypDB, HypApp, and HypBI
using the following URL: http://hypdb:28080/interop.

In the Application Management pane, expand Shared Services:localhost:28080 > User

Shared Services Projects are the same as Shared Services Application

Exercise 12.3 Loading Data into the Sample Application


In this exercise, you load data into the sample application.
On the HypApp server, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following directory:
C:\Hyperion\products\Planning\bin\sampleapp. Locate the sampApp_data.zip file.
Right-click sampApp_data.zip and select Winzip > Extract to....
In the Winzip Extract window, navigate to the C:\CF\Data folder and click Extract.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the C:\CF\Data folder. Rename the file
SampleApp_data.txt to MyData.txt.
On the HypBI server, open Windows Explorer and create a folder named temp in the C
drive.
On the desktop, open the CF\Data folder. Copy the MyData.txt file from CF\Data to the
C:\temp folder.
Start the Administration Services Console. Log on to the HYPBI Administration Server
with username plnadmin and password hyperion.
In the left pane, expand Enterprise View > Essbase Servers > HYPBI > Applications > PLAN1.
Right-click Consol and select Load data. Click Find Data File. Select the File System tab.

Exercise 14.1 Moving Classic applications to Performance


Management Architect
In this exercise, you move an application that was created in Classic Administration to
Performance Management Architect.
NOTE
When you perform this action, you cannot move the application back to Classic
Application Administration.

In Workspace, select Navigate > Administer > Application Upgrade. Review the Welcome
page, and click Next.
The Application Summary page displays the applications that the user can
upgrade. This information is provided from the Shared Services server. If an
application cannot be upgraded, an explanation is provided.
