A bill that seeks to make three banking

services free
The initiative was approved yesterday in the House of Representatives and would
enter the penultimate debate in the Senate.
This Wednesday, the third debate in the Senate of the Republic, the bill that
would give all users of the bank have three free services in their accounts. That is, if
you pay a handling fee, you must be entitled to three free banking options per month,
for example: free withdrawals, national consignments, account certificates, among
others. This could apply to credit or debit cards.
David Barguil, representative to the Chamber and head of this project, explained to
La Fm, that this would also leave behind the costs of failed transactions in ATMs. He
also recalled that the initiative would be the sixth in terms of banking justice with
users.
"The banking plays a fundamental role for the development of any economy,
however, my struggle is against some abuses that are presented in the financial
system in Colombia," he emphasized.
On the other hand, there are currently more than 55 million savings accounts in
the country so this could represent a significant impact on banking, or that
arguments the main banking entities. However, Barguil explains that when Congress
passed the ANIF prepayment law, he qualified it with a score of five out of five and
as the legislation with the greatest impact on the progress of the national financial
system.
"This prepayment law generated bank competition through the purchase of
the portfolio and that helped to lower the interest rate," said David Barguil.
Now it is expected that the project will pass in Senate and in that way, reduce the
costs of banking transactions for all users.
