The first 50 years has seen the town of Newman develop into an evolving modern town
centrally positioned within the largest Shire in the Southern Hemisphere, the Shire of
East Pilbara.
Newmans growth and sustainability is vital to the successful operations at Mt Whaleback through the
towns delivery of residential employees, public amenities and infrastructure required for a regional
community to flourish. BHP thanks local partners, both past and present, who contribute to ongoing
development and initiatives that make Newman a truly liveable community.
