Dear Sir,

I am writing to show my interest to work as a Research Assistant in Business Administration

beginning March 2017. I am currently working as a Finance Executive in a leading multinational
buying house company. I am extremely interested in higher studies, as the finance based research
programs have a wide range of learning and working opportunities.
I believe that my academic training and my two years of experience working as a finance
executive prepare me to be an effective researcher in your department. My Masters dissertation
was conducted under the direction of Dr. A.A. Mahboob Uddin Chowdhury, Professor and
Chairman, Department of Finance, University of Dhaka and my topic was Impact of Board
Characteristics on Firm Performance. In my research, I developed an integrated research design
and formulated methodology in which both firm profitability and financial stability are explicitly
satisfied. This was delivered in a computer-based statistical program SPSS that is freely
available to the community and has been downloaded by more than 250000 people. Although my
dissertation focuses on a single topic, other areas that interest me for my future research stem
from my goal of developing improved hypothetical research models.
During my graduate training, I have been fortunate enough to also serve as a teaching assistant
and occasionally instruct for an intermediate level course on capital budgeting. My two years of
professional experience as a finance executive have provided me with a broad view that is useful
in assisting students with projects and assignments. Through my participation as a teaching
assistant, I have developed confidence and an interest in teaching and look forward to the
opportunity to both teach assigned classes and to develop my own classes.
