High Performance Building Around the World Combining Tradition with

Technology in Building Designs

Abstract:

New technologies in building design are bringing new challenges; that have

leaded the growth in high performance building practices around the world. The

quest to achieve a Net Zero Energy building status while maintaining the

economic feasibility requires a combination of these advanced technologies with

effective application of local traditional practices. Today, the industry is applying

these traditional practices in building designs to achieve incremental levels of

sustainability and higher energy performance.

The goal of this presentation would be to give opportunity to the international

audience to see key aspects of high performance buildings around the world that

combine tradition with technology in building design.
