Safety Awareness

1. Safe entry & breath control practice 1 - 2 min


2. Streamlined floating 2 - 3 min
3. Back-floating revision 2 - 3 min
4. Back kicking with board 2 - 4 min
5. Paddling revision (extend distance) 3 - 5 min
6. Finding safety & monkey monkey 4 min
7. Transitions (back onto front) 2 - 4 min
8. Diving and recovering (goggles on and off ) 2 - 5 min

Safety Talk 1:
Q - Should you ever go swimming on your own, or hope in the water before an adult lets you know that it is safe?
Q - If you fall in the water what should you do? Where is the easiest place to get out?
Q - How do we hope in the water safely?
Safety Talk 2:
Q - Do we ever go swimming on our own?
Q - Is it safe to jump in the water to help someone else? How can you help but keep yourself safe?
It is important to set rules and expectations for your children about how they behave around water. Start this early and
be consistent with ythe rules you set.
