Oral Presentation Reflection

I thought I would be presenting to one of my mentors, Professor Wang, but he brought a

colleague, Dr. Shaolin Liu, sfrom the department of neurobiology. Since he was less familiar

with the context of the research than Prof. Wang, I had to be more considerate with my diction.

Dr. Liu seemed to be relatively receptive to my presentation, with him occasionally asking

questions that were more personal than research-oriented. I feel like the presentation would have

gone a lot smoother if I had concrete evidence to support my claims and hypothesis but I thought

I did a relatively good job with what I had. This presentation is a culmination skills from

multiple presentations, including the IM marketing presentations, county-wide group

presentations, and the Evening of Excellence. I have learned to fluctuate the frequency and tones

of my voice during my presentations for better audience engagement and overall my presenting

skills have improved dramatically.
