My decision to apply for the M.TECH/PHD program is driven by my aspiration to strengthen my knowledge, on
the technology and recent development which is the cause of the global progress.
I would like to acquaint myself with the knowledge which will be my power to bring change in tomorrows' India.
This course of Technology and Development has thoroughly satisfied me with its objective.
After my B.Tech, I nurtured my aspiration to pursue M.TECH with a single objective, which is, to empower my
skill, get a built-in-knowledge on todays technology from a reputed, organized institution which also excels in its
academics.IIT BOMBAY is the choice hence. I believe this esteemed institution in all aspects.
I believe that I will be able to fulfill my objective, if I get a chance to pursue my career from IIT BOMBAY.
I also plan to pursue PHD after M.TECH IF possible, on green energy sources, and its developments. The
reason is predictable.
The world is suffering for the immense pollution effects created by man-made technologies. But without
technology, the world has no virtue. So the hunt for the alternative sources of energy is inevitable. The green
sources will uplift the physical environment, and make it a better ecosystem. Although other developed nations
have already started using alternative energy sources, but in India it is still not very popular, so research in this
perspective, will be helpful for my country.
I have done my B.Tech from, not a very well known college though, yet I tried my best to pursue the knowledge
which came in my four year B.Tech courses. My course Instrumentation and Control engineering, consisted
of subjects like, Advanced Sensors, Measurements, Sensor and transducers, Industrial Instrumentation along
with Control system ,Process control and Advanced control and Biomedical Instrumentation .In the final year, I
developed a project with a name "Speaker recognisation using matlab" ,which is based on digital signal
processing in matlab environment. The developed system uses the Matlab (Matrix Laboratory) R2013 platform.
Speaker Recognition involves feature extraction, preprocessing, pattern matching, decision making. Here the
voice has been taken as input automatically in matlab environment via microphone. In feature extraction stage,
Mel frequency cepstrum coefficient (MFCC) has been calculated which provides a better measure of speaker
identification than the other features. Speaker Recognition can be done by various methods but in this project
vector quantization based recognition system using Matlab has been developed and tested. The developed
system is
user friendly and provides the results in real time. The database of 8 persons having 6 samples per person
including male and female has been created. Up next the project has been incorporated in GUI environment, to
view the results in Windows. It is a biometric identification model. I would like to dredge newer side, better side
of technological development in future, which would prove useful to my people, to my country and to the world.
