There is a Malay saying "Gajah di hadapan muka tidak nampak, kuman di seberang nampak".

This is
directly translated as, the elephant that is before you is not seen, but the bacteria far away you see. It
illustrates human nature that blatantly ignores obvious things, especially when they have a bias towards
or against it. The saying is used usually to point out hypocrisy in another's criticism.
