This experience was valuable from the standpoint that it made me consider what possibilities
might actually be available rather than just having a general idea of a role or industry that I wanted
to be a part of. It is easy to simply say that one wants to be in the consulting industry but once one
goes through the process of looking up specific offerings, he or she doesnt necessarily know what
opportunities are available and in which fields and which skills are needed from job to job.
Personally, I believe I have an interest in healthcare and consulting and ideally I would be able to
pair each of those industries in one job. Upon researching opportunities I came to realize that while
there are many opportunities available along these lines, the duties and responsibilities vary greatly
by company. Upon reviewing my list of targets, I have come to realize that I think the option that is
most important to me right now is the healthcare consulting job with Triage in San Francisco,
California. The duties most closely relate to daily tasks I am interested in and when consulting my
Strong Interest Inventory results this held up as well which I think is an important coincidence. As a
whole, I think my list reflects the fact that I have a good but general idea of what I want to do
professionally, whether it is consulting in the healthcare industry or in the environmental sphere or
even working in law with a concentration in one of those areas as well. I also think it was valuable to
see my primary targets laid out in one space and visualize where my interests truly lie, both in
location, job duties, and job titles, but overall I wasnt necessarily surprised by how my target lists
turned out because I felt like I did have a good grasp of my interests to begin with. Finally, now that I
have this information conveniently consolidated, I plan to further research opportunities and
continue to discover similar opportunities to find the one that interests me above all else. I think I
have a good direction after compiling this list and am confident that I will remain engaged and
optimistic in the search process.
