Interview commences at 9.45am whilst interviewer has more time to discuss my progress
Courtney: Hi Jo, I was wondering if you had any feedback for me in regards to my programming
Joanne: I think you have progressed a long way since you begun the placement I know it was a
challenge trying to alter your approach to planning, due to our service being heavily play based
Courtney: I think It is a great learning experience and now I am more familiar with the childrens
interests at the service it is much easier to provide them with meaningful experiences
Joanne: That is very true, if you would like I think you would be quite capable of creating the day
book from now if you feel up to it. You can ask me for any help if you require
Courtney: That sounds great, I am sure I can manage that and the support and feedback would be
great
Joanne: It will also give families the opportunity to see what you are programming for their children,
might I also give you a suggestion for your programming Courtney
Joanne: To provide the best opportunities for childrens extended learning just remember to always
engage with them by asking open ended questions and intervening only when necessary
Courtney: I just find it difficult sometimes to understand an appropriate point to support them and
create conversations
Joanne: I understand but just let the children lead the play and they will ask you questions and you
will know when they need that little bit of extra help
Courtney: Sounds good, I will ensure I do that and I will start the daybook today, are you okay to
check over it before it goes out to parents
Joanne: Of course
