This paper is motivated by the importance of knowing the virtues about
Witr prayer and Suggestion to perform it. After knowing the definition, provision,
and procedures in performing witr prayer according to the theory taken from
several sources of Islamic provisions, namely Al-Quran and Al-Hadith, then in
order to apply it according to the teachings and guidance of Rasulullah SAW.
Witr prayer is sunna prayer that is performed at night after isha'a (night-
time prayer) or before fajr (dawn prayer). It is done at night as cover of other night
prayer like tahajud prayer or tarawih prayer. The provision of witr prayer is
sunnah muakkad and there are some scholars who argue that the obligatory
mandatory prayer to cover the evening prayers are done as witir prayer was never
left by the Prophet during his life and under any circumstances. Witr prayers have
such extraordinary virtues; In addition to the prayer, perfecting as the perfect of
the evening prayer, the prayer of Allah's beloved witr, the better prayer of the red
camel, the prayer can be answered, the prayer is witnessed by angels, the prayers
can be guided and strength by Allah SWT.
