To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this letter in reference of Ashley Knocks performance in a teaching position within our
school district. Ashley is an outstanding educator, an asset to our staff, and has a bright future as a
school administrator.

I have been fortunate to work with Ashley for the past seven years at Warren G. Harding Middle
School in Des Moines, IA. As a SINA/PLAS school, we have high expectations for instruction and a
student body which often presents both academic and behavior challenges to teachers. Ashley has
thrived in this environment and has been extremely successful during her time at Harding. I have
been able to watch Ashley grow from an inexperienced teacher to a strong veteran who is one of the
leaders of our building. Ashley works hard to create engaging lessons using district curriculum and
which are aligned to unit learning objectives. She has also effectively monitored student progress and
worked with her fellow Math teachers to determine the next instructional steps for students and then
to develop future lesson plans. Her commitment to constantly challenging students and helping them
reach their goals allows students in her classroom to achieve at their highest levels.

Ashley has been a valuable member of Harding not only in her classroom, but in the building as a
whole. As a member of the School Leadership Team, Ashley helped develop building wide policies
and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment for students. She also has helped
implement new learning in our building around cultural proficiency and the Marzano Instructional
Framework. Ashleys leadership and ability to help support this work with her peers has helped our
building grow tremendously both in school culture and student performance over the past few years.

Without hesitation, I would recommend Ashley Knock for an administrative position within your
district. She is a positive, professional leader who consistently works hard to improve and would
make an excellent addition to any buildings staff. Please feel free to contact me with further
questions.
