The rule to live by

One rule that everyone should live by is, to stand up for others or defend them.
Everyone should stand up and defend others for the right thing. If one sees someone being
harassed, bullied, or discriminated, they must be brave and defend that person. If people
don't stand up for others, who will be left to stand up for us? When one stands up for
others, he or she show that they are an ethical person. As human beings, its everyone's
natural duty to love and respect everyone and stand up for what's right. For example in
justice: what's the right thing to do?, it stated that natural duties include the duty to
treat people with kind and respect to be there for them, to do justice, to avoid cruelty.
Meaning as individuals we have natural duties which are to stand up for what's right in
our society.

From the novel Their eyes were watching god, the main character is named Jaine.
Jaine was married three times. Jaine is always trying to find love. She is strong and
hopeful. Janie wants to discover herself and know who she is. Janie is her own hero. Over
the years Jaine learned how to be strong and protect herself. Janie began to find her own
voice, she stood up to her abusive husband, Jody. Jaine stood up for her ownself, she knew
it was the right thing to do. Jaine followed my rule. She stood up for her ownself and knew
it was the right thing to do in order to protect herself. Some people might disagree and say
that Jaine should of not yelled at her husband because that is not lady like.

Standing up for others or defending them is an important rule, but it is also

important to stand up for yourself. If Jaine didnt stand up for herself she wouldn't be the
same person that she is towards the ending of the book. This action affected Jaine in a good
way and it made her happy. Standing up for others and yourself is what makes a person
ethical and moral.
