1. INTRODUCTION
‘The Type LABS-1-D relay is a differential voltage reley designed
to provide instantaneous bus d{fferential protection,
When we condider the external fault, in order to reduce the
differential error input, this type relay has large differential
Ampedance,

In extemal fault, this differential voltage is small, so that
relay can't operate, while in internal fault this voltage
become large enough to operate relay, because by the large input
impedance, the voltage become larger in proportion to CT
characteristics.
The purpose of the high unit is to provide instantaneous
operation (less than two cycles) for extremely severe internal ~
faults.
To install or not to install this "Iiigh Set" unit 1s depend on
customer's order.
