Near Geostationary orbits

There are number of perturbing forces that act on satellite which force the orbit to deviate from
the ideal geostationary orbit. So the orbit with small inclination is called geo synchronous or
near geostationary orbit. But some geosynchronous satellites are in elliptical orbits. Hence all
geo synchronous satellites are not near geostationary satellites.

For the near geostationary orbits and satellites, the sub satellite point and true anomaly are
given as follows
