AIR ATR 42 Aircrafts Flight contrats This Airmurthiness Directive applies lo ATR 42-300 and -320 models. To prevent a possible roll departure upon manual disconnection of the autopilot following an incorrect setting of the rudder or aileron trim tabs, the following measures are rendered mandatory : AJ Concerns ATR 4? aircrafts for which the accomplishment of one of the Service Dulletins ATR 42-27-0046 (original issue on 11/06/90, or Revision 1 on 18/06/90) or AIR 42-27-0049 (original issue on 14/09/90) has led to the replacement of rudder and/or elevators tabs rods and for which the fight check required in part "A" of the releyrap! AN 90-701-033(B) was nat perfarmed or for which additional flight checks are required. Within 25 hours time in service, from the effective date of this Airmurthiness Directive, perform’ a fiyl check of tab surfaces settings in accordance with the procedure described in the Service Bulletin ATR 42-27-0050. If at least one trim indication recorded is outside the tolerances mentfoned in SB ATR 42-27-0050, al} additional commercial flight of the aircraft is prohibited. NOTE : The flight checks described by SR ATR 42-77-0050 must not be performed during a commercial flight. Within 25 hours time in service, from the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive, check’ the roll control channe) by performing the following instructions = 1) Perform a visual inspection through wing lower trailing edge panels of accessible roll control mechanisms : make sure they move freely and that there are no hard spots or abnormal friction. 2) Perforn a detailed visual inspection of roll control belicranks at the upper central fairing, make sure they move freely and that there are no hard spots or abnormal friction. This Revision 2 supersedes Airworthiness Directive 90-201-033(8)RI issued on November 28, 1990 : its aims at clarifying the next and does not require any additional action. ELCECTIVE DATES = Revision 1 Revision 2 upon receipt after NOVENBER 22, 1990 identical to that of Revision 1.
