The pursuit of knowledge and good education has been the main focus of my life.

Not

only to better myself but in order to obtain the tools and wisdom necessary to improve the lives

of others. I have been attending Delaware County Community College for two years now. My

curriculum here has been focused around the health care profession. Majoring in health Care is

the path which will allow me to harness my abilities and interest in a field which changes the

lives of others. I have committed my time at Delaware Community College in obtaining a strong

basis in the general sciences. Attending many science classes followed with lab was a great

experience for me because I got to visualize a lot of things that cant be seen with a naked eye.

This allowed me to develop the premise of paying attention to the smallest of details due to the

importance which they are most often underlying. Lab is truly the arena in which I am most

inspired and motivated to further my learning. I have conducted many different tests in lab some

of which include testing various bacteria. Such experiments involving water and swab testing

have given me a clear idea that I want to spend my career in a medical laboratory.

The profession of a Medical Laboratory technician motivates and interests me in many

ways. Medical technologists have the opportunity to work in different facilities such as

hospitals, diagnostic centers, and small clinics. These different locations enable me to span

different scopes of the medical field and contribute to various developing trends which are

paving the way for the future. It is truly one of the more important areas in health care because

most of the decisions made in medicine are made as a direct result of laboratory testing. Another

reason is that it is an independent profession. This I believe inspires and provides a better venue

for creativity and innovation. Through the nurturing environment of Jeffersons great staff, I will
be able to fully express my passion in the medical laboratory profession. I believe I will thrive in

the atmosphere created at Jefferson which will in turn enhance both my life and career.
