The article For Mercys Sake by Patrick Martin strongly agrees that euthanasia should

be allowed under doctors care. Euthanasia is the unproblematic killing of a patient suffering
from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma. Although euthanasia is illegal
in most countries; more and more people are committing euthanasia. Majority of people chose
to have active assistance in dying but the advancements in technology keep patients living
longer. Also untreatable and painful diseases such as AIDS. Active euthanasia is when death is
brought about by an act; for example, when a person is killed by being given an overdose of
pain-killers. Passive euthanasia is when someone lets the person die. In the Netherlands
euthanasia is legal. They choose to have active assistance in dying. Many doctors need to
educate themselves and realize that euthanasia is still a type of medical treatment.
