Lesson idea implementation:

The teacher will introduce the studies of Shapes and how they relate to objects in the environment using a
Power Point video from the Microsoft Office productivity software. The teacher will first introduce the Power
Point as a class and review it. The video includes basic shapes: circle, square, rectangle and triangle. The video
is an interactive book which gives students opportunities to stop and think as they listen to the question on
each page, what looks like a (shape)? The next page provides a real life object example as to what the shape
looks like. The teacher then will ask the students to name the different shapes in the video as well as the
objects they look like.

After viewing the Power Point, students will be ask to name real life objects that look like shapes and
teacher will list them on whiteboard. Teacher will break students into groups to use I-pads to find images of
objects in the environment that look like the shapes they are studying.

Teacher will assist students into creating their own Power Point video by recording the real life objects that
look like a specific shape. The recording will be saved on the Ipads library for students to enjoy.

Optional extension: Students will extend their study to more shapes such as star, diamond, pentagon and
create their own movies and publish them on the classrooms website,
