Drill Down (Reporting)

1. Drill Down (Reporting)
This page is about creating a Drill-Down in the View Results section. In this section,
the Drill-Down will apply to all questions in a report. For information on using a
Drill-Down and other advanced filtering options in Reporting Beta, view Data
Sources and Filters.
Introduction
The Drill Down feature in View Reports allows you to create a comparative report
that divides each graph and table by the answers to a specific question or Embedded
Data field. Drill Down can be applied to any of your reports, which are found in
the View Reports section of the View Results tab.

Example: On a survey that asks In which region are you located?, you could use
Drill Down to look at how answers to other questions vary by region.

This question compares the satisfactions levels of clients by continent.
When to use a Drill Down
Drill Downs are useful when you want to view the results of each question by a
specific attribute, such as education level, client tier, or geographical location. You
can think of Drill Down as a shortcut for creating multiple reports with a filter for
each aspect of a question or each value of an Embedded Data field.
Example: Instead of creating a new report for each session of a seminar, use Drill
Down to create one report with the results to each question broken down by
session.

This report uses a Drill Down to compare the effectiveness of the Morning, Afternoon,
andEvening training sessions.
Drill-Downs dont filter out any data, they simply present the data in a way that
makes it easy to compare groups. For more information on filtering certain
responses from your report, viewFilters and Subgroups.
With reports created in the View Results tab, you can apply one Drill Down and
multiple filters to one report. For information on how to create a report with
multiple Drill Downs and advanced filtering, check out Reporting Beta.
