Dear Sanjana,

I enjoyed reading the rough draft of your literature reviewI think you did a good job!
Overall, you provide a good introduction in to the topic of IMS and how it is implemented in
airport security. You discussed the advantages of the technique, why it is currently used and
then followed that up with the shortcomings of IMS and how improvements should be made. I
think you effectively assimilated different sources and opinions from the field about what sorts
of advancements should be made in the future to better airport security. Finally, there is evident
synthetic judgment in your conclusion about how you think the debate of your paper should be
resolvedcombining technologies or making advancements to the current techniques.
The main suggestion that I have for the paper aligns with most of the comments that I
madeI think it might be good to expand a bit on some of your statements. For example, you
say that some authors have suggested possible improvements to swab-based techniques; I might
consider elaborating on sentences like these. Giving specific examples of the possible
improvements proposed by researchers in the field would provide your paper with more evidence
and data that can be considered to help resolve the debate of IMS techniques. Also, I liked the
few instances in your review where you provided specific quantitative data that you pulled from
sources. I think these are effective in showing the reader what is objectively good and bad
about IMS or another technique.
I hope that my comments are helpful to you. Awesome job on the rough draft and good
luck with the final draft of your paper!

Sincerely,
Jackie
