Please find attached my resume for your consideration for a part-time Early Childhood Assistant
position with the YMCA. I am currently enrolled in my first year of Social Service Worker which will
be done in August 2016 and am very interested in the September start position you are offering, in
either Oshawa, Whitby, or Ajax.

I have taken different courses about ethics, psychology, pharmacology and much more. These
courses were very interesting to me, given that they address development, mental health, and
accessibility/equity issues faced by society today. Through my current courses, sociology and crisis
intervention, I have been provided with various knowledge and information regarding different types of
situations and how to handle them appropriately. My skills in these areas serve to make me an excellent
candidate for working with young children to encourage positive early years experiences.

I am passionate about inclusion, and ensuring that all individuals have the right to experience
life to its fullest. My experiences working in the Associated class at Anderson CVI cemented in me a
strong desire to work with children or young adults with special needs or mental health issues. I had
the opportunity to both support these students through interaction and lesson delivery, and to get to
know them as individuals, thereby understanding the uniqueness of the barriers each one faces. This
allowed me to better provide accommodations as they participated in their High School programming. I
sincerely enjoyed each one of the students, and built a strong rapport with them.

I am a strong team player, but also able to take initiative and action when I see a need. I am
proficient in Microsoft, articulate, and confident in conversing with parents and colleagues. I am a
fierce proponent of team work and inclusion, and passionately believe we all have a responsibility to
ensure that the world is accessible and open to all.
