How to use OnePetro Library

The sponsorship for universities for using the OnePetro Libray by Schlumberger
has ended, but the department has now entered into a subscription agreement
with OnePetro, so that all OnePetro papers are available free of charge to users
with domains:
@ntnu.no
@ipt.ntnu.no
@stud.ntnu.no
(and some more)

You may log into OnePetro using the link below and then click on login at upper
right. As a new user you first need to register at "New User Registration" (bottom
of page).

Detailed instruction for use may be found in the document attached on the next
page.
OnePetro Access with Domain Validation

****USERS MUST LOGIN FOR DOMAIN VALIDATION TO BE APPIED***

WHAT IS D OMAIN VALIDATION?
Some companies and universities cannot use IP validation for various reasons.
To give them an alternate option OnePetro created a program that will enable
users to validate based on the fact that he/she has a valid company/university
email address.
HOW IS DOMAIN VALIDATION SET UP IN ONEPETRO?
Your users must create a login on OnePetro and register their company (or university) email
address to have access to your company/university subscription. This access format requires
that users login in order to use the subscription.
HOW DOMAIN VALIDATION WORKS:
The following link is posted on the subscribers intranet site:
http://www.onepetro.org/mslib/protected/entitlement/RequestEntitlement.jsp
(Link will only work once a valid email domain has been supplied by the company
and entered in the entitlements section of the OnePetro Admin Screens)

Once a user has logged in, they will be ask to supply their company (or university) email
address. OnePetro will then check the domain name of the email to verify that it is a valid
domain. The user is sent a confirmation email to the specified email account with a link to
finish the registration process. (The link only remains active for 48). This will confirm that the
user has the right to access your company/university subscription based on an valid email
account. Users will remain in the "group" for 90 days (typically), at which point users will
need to re-validate that he/she is still enrolled/employed by your company and have the
right to use the domain validation by repeating the process listed above. (a reminder
message will be sent to let them know they need to re-validate) .

UNLIMITED SUBSCRIPTION ACCESS WITH DOMAIN VALIDATION :

1. Unlimited Subscription access means that the user should be able to see a link
directly to the PDF from either the search results or the preveiw page.
2. USER MUST BE LOGGED IN!!!!
3. The user does not need to add papers to his or her cart that are covered by the
subscription if they are logged in and can see the PDF link.
4. If a user addes papers to the cart prior to logging in, they will still be able to login
and walk through an abbreviated cart (similar to the packaged download option).

*NOTE: If a user with domain validation never logs in, he/she will be charged for
the papers they are trying to download.
WHAT THE USER WILL SEE:
