Teacher's Prayer

I thank you Lord for the privilege of being a teacher and

I ask that You give me the strength, the wisdom, and the
love to carry out this awesome responsibility.

Help me, Lord, as I begin this new day, to see each

child as a unique and worth while individual; a child
of God; someone deserving of my best effort, my
attention and my love. Help me keep in mind that
these students are the mothers and fathers of the
future, who one day will reflect the love I've shown
them or the lack of it.

As I approach these students today Lord, I see many

different faces. Help me to always remember that I
stare into eyes which reflect a unique history; I deal
with minds, hearts, and souls that have their own
talents, carry their own burdens, and have their own
hopes and dreams. Help me to be sensitive to their
individuality; to recognize and cultivate their talents;
to support them with their problems; and assure them
that their dreams can become reality.

As I look into each child's face today Lord, let me

see there the face of Jesus and treat each one
accordingly.
