1. Please refer to your journal for quotes that you have written while reading Night

2. Look at your quotes and focus on what specific character development Eliezer goes through
a. Religious - Does Eliezer view about religion change?
b. Father-Son relationship - How does Eliezer view his father?
c. Death - Does Elizer mention any different views about dying?
d. God - Does he have the same view of God from when he was younger?
e. Identity - Does Eliezer view himself differently through certain events?
f. Morality, freedom, violence, race, etc

3. Choose your specific character development and write it in your graphic organizer

4. You need to choose quotes which are appropriate to the time sequence
a. Therefore, it needs to fit between the time periods of beginning, middle, & end
b. You should not choose quotes from the same exact chapter, unless you truly do believe it
shows great character development from one section to another, but I recommend not
doing so

5. Choose 3 quotes you believe show Eliezers character development (however it must be
appropriate to your specification)

6. Write your claim

a. This claim should show you what you are analyzing from this quotation
b. Your conclusions should be 1-2 sentences

7. Write your connection

a. Explain how this connection relates to your character development specification
b. How does this connect to the development of Eliezer?
c. What words do the quote include?
d. What phrases do the quote include?
e. Does this foreshadow anything?
